Extended overhead shot of Thomas and Edward arriving at BRENDAM DOCKS.
NARRATOR: Thomas and Edward arrived at Brendam Docks. They were very surprised to find Oliver there.
THOMAS: Oliver! What are you doing here?
OLIVER: I'm waiting to meet the competitors for the Sodor Railway Race. Can you see them yet, Cranky?
CRANKY: No, not yet.
EDWARD: I'm sure they'll be here soon. It takes quite a long time to get to Sodor from the Mainland.
OLIVER: I know, but I'm just so excited to meet them!
THOMAS: So am I! I've been wondering who would be in the race.
EDWARD: We came here to collect the poles for the starting and finishing lines, Thomas, not to meet the competitors.
Fade to a shot of Thomas and Edward with their load.
NARRATOR: Soon, Thomas and Edward had their trucks loaded up. As they were preparing to leave, they heard a whistle.
OLIVER: That must be one of the competitors!
Wide shot of the dockside, with an engine approaching. Thomas squints his eyes, then realizes.
THOMAS: Is that...?
EDWARD: It is! It's...
Wide shot of the engine puffing grandly into the Docks.
THOMAS, EDWARD and OLIVER: The Flying Scotsman!
FLYING SCOTSMAN: Hello, friends! Isn't it a lovely day for a race?
At that moment, another engine whistles and puffs in next to Flying Scotsman – it is SPENCER.
SPENCER: It's a lovely day to win a race, that's for sure!
The Sodor engines look unimpressed.
EDWARD: Hello, Spencer.
THOMAS: I take it you'll be in the Sodor Railway Race, too?
SPENCER: Indeed. And hopefully I'll win the Piston Cup this year.
EDWARD: I wouldn't count on it. We have a new contestant with us.
SPENCER: Oh, really? Where is he, then?
THOMAS: He's right here.
Thomas looks over to Oliver, who smiles proudly. Spencer then bursts into laughter.
SPENCER: You, Oliver?! You're in the Sodor Railway Race?!
Spencer laughs some more, which doesn't faze Oliver.
SPENCER: There's no way you'll win the race against moi! You'll knock yourself to bits if you're lucky!
