Legacy of the Green Ninja: Morning •

It's only been a few days since Lloyd's sudden grow up. But Y/n couldn't take it. Every time she looks at Lloyd she is reminded of what she went through. Loosing her childhood, loosing her freedom, loosing who she wanted to be. And now it's happening to Lloyd. She feels as if Hydra is laughing at her from hell.

These sudden reminders effected not only herself, but the rest of the team. She became more closed off of her feelings and put all her energy into getting Lloyd ready.

Y/n sits up in her bed, breathing heavily with her clothes sticking to her body. She slows her breathing and places a hand on her forehead. Stupid memories. Looking over at her clock she decides to start her day. . . at three am.

She gets on a sweater and ties the string of her sweatpants. She stretches and walks out of her room and heads to the kitchen. Once she was inside she got the kettle full of water and a packet of tea. She sets the kettle on the stove and sets it to high. She places the tea bag in a cup and waits for the water to heat.

Y/n takes the kettle off the stove once she could hear it begin to wistle. She didn't want to wake everyone else up at three in the morning. She pours herself a glass and sets the kettle on a cool part of the stove and heads to the top deck. The Bounty is on top of two large points, keeping the entire thing balanced. Y/n breaths in through her nose, taking in the cool morning air.

She sat at the edge of the Bounty with her tea, enjoying the silence and peace. Soon she hears someones footsteps behind her, a yawn following after. She looks back and sees Kai in his pajama's. It's not uncommon for Kai to sit with Y/n when she wakes early.

"What are you doing up?" Kai asks as he takes a seat next to her. She shrugs.

"Nightmare, the real kind." She says as she brings the cup to her mouth.

Kai couldn't help but stare at Y/n in awe as she stares off in the distance. The half moon above shines enough light to make her skin look like silk, hair blessed by the moon light. Most of her color is gone, leaving her true blonde. Kai likes it better this way. He likes the real Y/n.

"Why are you awake?" Y/n questions the fire ninja. He shrugs. He didn't really have a reason. All he did was use the bathroom and saw her sitting alone.

"No reason." He states. Y/n traces her finger around the rim of the cup. "Do you want to talk about your nightmare?"

"It's. . ." Y/n starts before she stops. She takes a breath before continuing. "It's like Hydra's is mocking me. With Lloyd's sudden growth, he won't be able to have a childhood. An with what he must do I don't know how to get him ready without using Hydra's methods." Y/n explains, her eyes watering with every word.

Kai pulls Y/n into an embrace, holding her close to his chest. She hugs back, hiding her face into his shoulder. She takes a breath in, smelling something forest like and smoke. It suits him.

"Hydra isn't going to hurt you again. I promise."

"You can't. He is still out there. And I know he's not going to stop."

"Then we'll be ready. And we'll have Lloyd, he'll be stronger and willing to fight." Kai tells her. She nods and pulls away.

Kai wants to take away her pain. To take away everything that Hydra's done to her. But he can't, he can only try to make it better.

"Thanks."

"Any time." Kai smiles.
