Short Story: Tempest Development Part 5

After arriving at a small town in Boruss, we entered a huge manor where the soldiers are guarding the gate.

While I was pretending to be unconscious, I contacted souie and we got connected through the sticky steel thread and shadow motion.

{Souie. Are you there?}

{I'm here my lord.}

{Good. I have a task for you.}

{It is my honor to serve you my lord. Ask anything you need.}

I then told souie all the details on my encounter with the two members of an organization in which I believe its called Apostles of Mammon.

{I've never heard of such organization my lord. It is my failure as an intelligence officer.}

That also goes for me too. How did it come to this when all I want is to enjoy my free time.

{Don't worry about it. For now, I want you to investigate the researchers on the labyrinth and all the companies that is part of the kingdom of Boruss. We might get some clues in there.}

{Understood. Although it is quite unlikely that our researchers from the labyrinth are part of this but I will look into it without fail.}

I also don't want to doubt my people, but we can't be too careful. I hope there's no one trying to sabotage us on the inside.

{Good. Also I want you to focus on the new recruited research teams. If there's anyone suspicious, put them under surveillance. And also keep this a secret.}

{Yes my lord.}

After I cut my connection with souie, I then talked to ciel.

>>Ciel. We've got all the footage of all the floors of the Labyrinth right? Is there any suspicious people there?<<

<<Negative. I've already checked everything when that person mentioned that there was a lot of activities on the labyrinth.>>

>>Thank you. But how would they know about that?<<

<<There's a possibility of infiltration on the labyrinth, but the most likely reason was because of the launch of the spaceship that Master conducted during that time.>>

>>Those spaceship?<<

<<Yes. There's a chance that there was someone who saw that invention flying in the sky and told the mastermind about the current situation.>>

>>Yes maybe. If they saw it and say, 'there's a brand new aircraft that the demon lord made, I think he is busy doing things so we should strike now' or something like that.<<

<<That is a possibility.>>

>>Thankfully only souie and I are the only one who knows about the situation, so let's keep at that to avoid any panic within my subordinates.<<

I turn off my connection with ciel when we arrived at the basement of the manor. It was so different than what's on the upper floor. It was a huge basement with a lot of glass capsule filled with green liquid, there was also a pile of tall stacked papers on the table and lots of writing on a board.
