In the shadows of the night,
Where the darkness reigns supreme,
Lurk the creatures of the light,
Haunting our every dream.

The shadows they do creep,
And stretch out like bony hands,
Reaching out to those who sleep,
In the depths of their demands.

We try to run and hide,
But the shadows they persist,
Clinging to our every stride,
Like a disease that can't be missed.

And in the end, we'll find,
That the shadows have consumed,
All the light that's left behind,
And left us in the gloom.

For human life is like a shadow,
Fleeting, fragile, and brief,
And in the end, we'll all just go,
Leaving only darkness and grief.

So let us face the night,
And embrace the shadows deep,
For in the darkness, we might find,
A peace we cannot keep.

Genre: Dark Poetry

I am pleased to share with you my poem, "Shadows of the Night." This poem is a reflection on the darker aspects of life and the way in which shadows can represent the struggles that we all face.

In writing this piece, I wanted to capture the feeling of being consumed by darkness, the sense of being lost and alone in the shadows. I hope that this poem will resonate with those of you who have experienced similar feelings or have struggled with the challenges that life can bring.

As with much of my poetry, "Shadows of the Night" uses metaphor and imagery to explore its themes. Through the use of language, I sought to convey the emotional weight of these experiences, and to create a sense of atmosphere and mood that draws the reader in.

Thank you for taking the time to read my work. I hope that "Shadows of the Night" will stay with you and offer you a moment of reflection and insight.
