Imani: "Melo please say something; you're scaring me"
I was speechless
My mind had a million things running through it but my lips wouldn't move
"You pranking me or something?" I asked as I looked at the box she gave me
When she told me she made me something I honestly thought she meant food
Instead she handed me a box with a bow on it
I opened it thinking maybe it's a chain since the box was a decent size
No.
There was an ultrasound picture, a baby onesie that said World's Greatest Dad, and a pregnancy test that was clearly positive
Imani: "no, this isn't a prank" she said as twiddled her fingers
"My baby is having a baby!" I said as I hugged her
Imani: "you're not mad?" I heard her sniffle
I pulled away and looked at her like she was crazy
"If I'm trying to spend the rest of my life with you.. why the hell would I be mad?" I chuckled as I wiped her tears away
Imani: "I don't know. My mind was coming up with all types of shit" she said as I kissed her forehead
I couldn't stop staring at her

I really hit the jackpot
"How far along?"
Imani: "I'm only 8 weeks"
I looked at her in pure confusion
Imani: "2 months babe" She giggled
"I'm mad that I didn't notice" I said as I sat down and sat her on my lap
Imani: "there really isn't anything to notice and I don't have any cravings yet"
"Your boobs as slightly bigger and you're moody as hell"
Imani: "They don't feel bigger but they do get sore and I'm not moody"
"Mani You threatened the nurse at the hospital, turned around and cried when you saw me, then immediately stopped crying and happily went to get the car after I said I was fine"
Imani looked like she was connecting the dots
Imani: "yeah, I guess you're ri-"
I looked at her as her phone rang
Imani: "hey" she smiled as she answered the FaceTime call
Both Kaliah and E looked disgusted
That was my cue to go
I got up and headed to the kitchen to find some snacks
Kaliah: "I'm sharing my screen" Was the last thing I heard
Before I even hit the cabinet imani yelled
Imani: "LAMELO!"
I walked back into the living room as fast as I could with this dumb as boot on my foot
"What's wro-oh shit!" I said as I looked down at her phone

Imani: "No! This is the first time I'm seeing this"
Kaliah: "Why didn't he tell us?"
I hit the mute button on her phone
"The same reason we ain't telling them shit" I said before unmuting her phone
Evoni: " she's at least 6 months"
Kaliah: "Meaning She was pregnant at the party"
Evoni: "And pregnant when I was with him"
"I haven't looked at my phone since this morning and I know my dad has to be going off in our family group chat"
Imani: "That's his business. There's nothing we can do about it"
"To be fair None of us like her anyway so it makes sense that he didn't tell us shit"
Kaliah: "So what? Friends have arguments and disagreements all the time but keeping life altering news from each other is nuts"
Imani: "I'm gonna have to side with Gelo on this one. Maybe it wasn't his decision to keep it a secret, maybe it was Nikki's"
"I'm siding with Gelo too. Everything ain't about us and if that's something they wanted to enjoy privately then they have the right to"
Imani: " And if it was her then for once I'm going to have to agree with Nikki. I personally wouldn't want people who I know for a fact don't like me to know my personal business."
Evoni: "I guess that makes sense" she shrugged
Kaliah: "still sad though. We're his friends; regardless if we like the girl or not..we're still happy for him"
Evoni: "speaking of the devil, he's calling"
Me and Kaliah nodded before E left the call
"that's weird" I said as I scrunched my face up
Kaliah: "it's probably that old lady playing on gelo's phone again
Imani: "I hope not because I'm done with the drama. I don't wanna hear anything else unless it's good news"
Kaliah: "I agree. Trying to keep this friend group together is stressful"
I just nodded
Kaliah: "oh my man calling! I'll talk to y'all later " She smiled before hanging up
"well at least now we know why he was so hellbent on us liking her"
Imani: "Yeah cause she's gonna be around forever"
"I'm not going to sugarcoat anything and you know this; i'm happy for Gelo BUT all my focus is going to y'all" I said as he pointed to imani then her stomach
Imani: " No I get it. Honestly dealing with Gelo and his relationships issues is stressful and I read that stress is not good for the baby."
"hell stress ain't good for nobody!" I laughed
Imani: "I also want to keep this out the media. I want to be able to enjoy my pregnancy without all the outside noise and personal opinions being thrown at me"
Melo: "I agree" I nodded
For the rest of the afternoon me and mani alked about what the nursery would look like, which one of us wanted a boy and which one of us one of the girl, baby names, baby shower ideas, and a schedule to work out all of the doctor appointments
Although the baby wasn't here yet I was completely in love with my little family
