On that fateful day, Maria arrived at her job late, her mind preoccupied with the events of the previous night. She had been out with her friends, celebrating the release of her latest short story. They had all been excited and a little bit tipsy, laughing and chatting as they made their way home.

As Maria walked through the door of the work to began her day at the snack stand, she was greeted by the familiar smell of fried food and grease that filled the air. She sighed, it was just another day at work for her. She was located near a subway station in São Paulo, Brazil and the hustle and bustle of the city was in full swing. People were rushing to and from their daily routine, completely oblivious to the dark secrets that lurked just beneath the surface.

Maria poured herself a cup of "coffee with milk" and took a sip. She had always been proud of her work, and the fact that she was able to provide for her family with it. But today, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off and Maria's mood quickly shifted. She felt a sense of dread wash over her as she surveyed the familiar surroundings.

As she stood there, she noticed a man walking towards her stand. He was wearing a black coat, and his eyes seemed to be fixed on her. She tried to shake off the feeling, but the more she looked at him, the more she felt like he was watching her.

The man approached her and introduced himself as Anderson, a famous author. He told her that he had been a fan of her writing for a long time and that he would love to chat with her for a bit. Maria was surprised and a little starstruck. She had always been proud of her secret passion for writing risqué stories, publishing under pseudonyms online. She had never imagined that a famous author would be interested in talking to her.

As the day went on, Maria became increasingly paranoid. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was coming for her, that her every move was being watched and recorded. She tried to push the thoughts out of her mind to focus on her work, but her mind kept wandering, and she made mistake after mistake.

It wasn't until the end of the day, as she was closing up shop, that Maria realized the true source of her unease. She had been so caught up in her own thoughts about Anderson that she hadn't even noticed the figure standing in the shadows, watching her all day. It had been there the whole time, studying her, watching her every move.

Maria's heart raced as she realized the true terror of her situation. She had been so focused on her own life, her own passions, that she had never even considered the possibility that someone else might be watching her. And now, she was in too deep, trapped in a world of darkness and horror, with no way out.

As the day came to an end, Maria couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about what she had learned. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was something sinister lurking beneath the surface of Anderson's work and the mysterious shadow people. She made a mental note to herself to look into it further. As she packed up her stand and headed home, Maria couldn't help but wonder what other secrets the city of São Paulo was hiding.
