"Oh my god, Alaina, shut up!"

90% of our conversations through the forest consisted of me saying that.

Alaina was a pain in the ass the entire way and just made it generally difficult to maneuver through this strange terrain. Sure, my planet knew enough about this one. We certainly needed to know our stuff before we arrived, so we stocked up in books and started to teach our younger specimens about the place. But we were never told about the bumps and how many freaking trees there were going to be.

We finally arrived at a cave. I peeked inside to look for the carvings. Sure enough, there was my identification number. My guardians must've etched it in there when we arrived. But how did they know we would be needing it?

I dragged Alaina into the cave where we sat down. Alaina groaned as I folded my knees and closed my eyes. "Don't tell me you're attempting to meditate." I opened one eye back up and rolled it.

"I like those "Buddhism" ideas." I shrugged. "Self finding, the Eightfold path..."

"More like self grinding and the boring path." Alaina stood up and moved her hips sensually against the cave wall.

My eyes widened and I gasped. "Alaina! Who demonstrated that kind of vulgar activity to you?! That is disgusting!" Alaina was chortling. This was strange behavior for a Fura representative. She was showing such extreme emotions.

"Alaina, did you take your shot today?" I asked out of suspicion.

Her 13-year old, childish face went white. Then she let out a "pfft" sort of noise and shrugged. "Of course I did! It's rude to think you would think that I would think that...I don't really know what I'm saying anymore, sorry." She slumped against the wall. My race is only allowed to have emotions sometimes. We take shots to keep ourselves under control.

Alaina kicked a rock at me. "So, what do you think Malum is going to do with that section?"

I honestly didn't know, and I certainly didn't care. It wasn't my section, I wasn't concerned about it. "I don't know." I mumbled, running my hands through my dirty blonde hair.

"How could you not know? Don't you wanna know about this stuff?"

"To be honest, I couldn't care less."

She walked over to me and punched me in the arm. "Ah!" I said, pretending to be hurt. (Once again, another fact about my race: we have an extremely difficult time getting hurt. We also have much longer lifespans than the average human.)

"Oh, shut up," she said, sliding down the cave wall next to me. "So, have any big ideas on what to do?"

I thought for a moment. "We should find edible items to store." I stood up and trudged back into the woods.

"Wait up! I'm fat!" Alaina said.

I think we all know that, Alaina.

I think we all know that.
