Vivek's POV -

The constant teasings targeted at me and Smriti didn't let us have our breakfast in peace the following day. But I am going to solely blame Smriti for our current situation. She just can't stop blushing whenever she looks up from her plate at me and how can this go unnoticed by my detective family?

"Ro Bhaiyya lagta hai kal after party main party se zyaada fun nikli. Tch Tch miss kar diya humne." I rolled my eyes at Amrita's stupid statement. (Rohit Bhaiyya, looks like the after party was more fun than the actual one.)

"Main toh humesha kehta hoon ki after parties are better than the main ones but tu meri kab sunti hai?" Rohit snickered at his own statement. (I always say that after parties are better than the main ones, but when do you ever listen to me?)

I cleared my throat in an attempt to stop their teasing because Smriti's blush was only deepening by each second.

"Jal lijiye, thak gaye honge app ghadi ghadi gala saaf kar kar ke." Mom passed me a glass full of water in reaction to my 5th attempt of stopping everyone from having fun at our expense. (Take this water, you must have got tired after clearing your throat every other second.)

I snorted while others laughed their hearts out and Smriti? She looked like she was waiting for the earth to swallow her up.

"Literally kal kuch hua bhi nahin and you all are overacting so much." I said the truth out. (Literally, nothing happened yesterday and....)

"Aww bura lag raha hai is baat ka bhai ko?" Rohit mocked me. (Aww bhai is feeling bad about it?)

"Arghh, Smriti, eat your breakfast fast, we need to escape this hellhole as soon as possible." I spoke through gritted teeth.

After that, finally, my family let us finish our breakfast in some peace.

"Keep coming beta, this is your house." Mom told Smriti affectionately as we got up to leave for Smriti's house.

"Thank you so much Aunty, Bhaiyya and Amrita for making me feel so loved and so sorry for coming here the way I did last night." Smriti smiled apologetically.

"Rubbish, mom said na it is your house too. We toh didn't even take permission from mom and dad before coming in their lives and you are talking about visiting? So funny of you bhabhi." Amrita joked and then laughed at her own joke.

"Hatt pagal (crazy). " Mom hit the back of Amrita's head lightly, making all of us chuckle.

"Come soon." Rohit told Smriti, giving her a side hug.

We then sat in my car and started for Smriti's house. I could immediately feel the change in Smriti's mood as we started for her house.

"You know you can't always escape from reality, right?" I asked more like, reminded Smriti sensing her displeasure at going back to her home.

"You know why I had a fight with my family yesterday?" Smriti changed the topic of our conversation while playing with her fingers.

I looked at her and shook my head before looking back at the road.

"Bhaiyya and Bhabhi had seen and heard us talking about my education in the cafe yesterday and my family wanted me to hide this piece of information about my life from you." She told me the truth while staring at me.
