The Idea of Truth

Take time to pause
Close your eyes, and breathe
Allow yourself to slowly take things in

And as you go through this journey,
There's no rush to figuring out
What needs to be cherished and let go of

I know you might be thinking,
You hold value to such thing,
You have a hard time detaching yourself
From the idea of what gives you comfort

In the sense of hurting yourself
You have to realize that
Whatever you've been holding unto
Is merely just an 'idea'

Truth slaps.

It's hard to believe at the first slap
The second one, you're still quite hoping
The third and last slap should do it's job
Time has come to let go, keep your head up

In fact, you deserve a pat in the back
You've fought fairly
With the purest of pure intentions
In this case, 'chance' wasn't your ally

And that's okay
That gives you the ability to finally let go
Let go of uncertainties, of self doubting
And finally realize that
You weren't meant to hold on to it

You were meant to learn and discover
A really important part of your journey to self-love
In... and out... Keep breathing
You're meant to... be you

And have genuine happiness
