Is it bad to care?

Is it bad to care and to be too kind?
To put others first and leave ourselves behind
To give your all and never ask for more
To be a friend and not keep score

Is it wrong to have a heart that's pure
To lend a hand to those who endure
To be a light in someone's darkest hour
To use our love to help them find their power

And yet it still hurt to not care
Some may say that kindness is a weakness
That we should put ourselves above the meekness
But what is strength without compassion
And what is power without love's passion
