Summer

I hate the summer.
It's hot and humid;
Sticky and dehydrating.
The sweat dripping from my forehead and collecting in every crevas of my body makes me recoil.

I hate the beach.
A true symbol of summer.
I hate the ocean, it's mysterious and terrifying.
The way sand gets between my toes and inside my swimsuit top makes me want to puke.

There are only a few things I like about summer;
Swimming in the public pools, splashing and laughing with friends
Going to amusement parks, the screams and accelerating speed of the roller coasters
Having ice cream on a hot day to cool myself down.

Summer is bittersweet.
But if I were to decide bitter or sweet;
It'd be bitter.
The taste of salty popcorn overrules the sweet tasting popclicles.
