Alphabet

If I could use words to truly explain
what my heart feels for you,
Then I'd have to use up every letter
of the alphabet,
I feel your absence so strongly,
Even when your body lays next to mine,
I hold your hands in mine,
But the warmth of your body
slowly but surely dies out,
And the brightness that once spread
across your face at the sight of me
starts to dim and eventually fades away,

If I could use words to truly explain every
thought I have of you,
Then I'd have to use up every single letter
of the alphabet,
Because my mind has become an endless pit
filled with a strongly negative fog,
Because when you look at me and can no longer
keep the loving gaze that you used to give me,
I know it in my heart of hearts,
And have memorised it in my head,
That it is no longer I who takes over your
every thought,
I do not drive you crazy anymore,
Because now you are fast to forget even the
smallest of details when it comes to me,

If I could use words to explain the feelings
that I have for you,
Then I'd have to use up every single letter
of the alphabet,
But still be left with words unheard,
Poems unread,
And feelings not reciprocated,
So I say no more to you,
And let the letters of the alphabet
portray the silence of my broken heart.
