Memories

Memories memories memories,
Securely locked inside my brain,
Safe for when I need to look back,
To remind me of myself,
What I've had to lose,
With you-
Strangely pulled from me,
And your heart snatched away from
my shaking palms,
I look at my arms and notice the
hairs growing on it,
I imagine that these little hair atoms
are our love,
Forever growing in our hearts,
But the image quickly fades away,
Withering away with what remains of
my little heart,
I am not so ignorant anymore,
For I have grown,
And am well aware that loving you,
Made me a little girl in an arcade,
Playing a losing game,
But the memories though,
They stick with me like a black tattoo
on light skin,
As strong as the smell of an
expensive perfume,
I may forget your name,
Forget your surname,
Or even forget what you liked
and disliked,
But the memories will always be there
to remind me of how happy we
both seemed to be,
When we were together,
That is enough,
Even for me.
