When the time was right and the sun had fallen from the sky. She rose from her deep slumber and noticed that he was asleep, but she didn't feel any movement from him. For this had been the time of the night, the time for the moon and stars. She leaned on him so she could reach for his cheek to give him a kiss. As she was doing this she wondered why she couldnt feel a heartbeat. She turned him over and laid her head on his chest.
Darling? She said as she sat there looking at him wondering if she had done something in her sleep that might have done this to him. She laid her head on his chest once more but heard nothing, nor felt anything. Tears like whispers of the night fell from her face as she sat looking at him one last time.
Too weak to realize the pain in her heart she took his heart and hugged it with every ounce of strength she had A few moments later Thump Thump Thump Tears ran from her eyes landing on the bed sheets. She managed to say, I love you. He opened his eyes, put his hand on her cheek, and said, I love you too, darling.
