Araki sighs and gazes at the mark below his thumb that he has made several efforts to keep hidden from everyone around him. The bite mark was made by Lucian with great intensity and passion.

Araki still remembers that look and couldn't help but feel happy about the accidental mark that he received from his mate. It was a treasure for him and he very much wanted to keep it for a longer period.

It was a bit painful at first, his doctor was very angry with him for being reckless and playful. Araki didn't explain the circumstances and let him apply the medicine and bandage the wound.

He traces the mark that has lightened now, slowly healing. He was happy to receive it but with it fading slowly he wanted to keep looking at it and frame the image in his mind.

Two days passed after the incident and he was not able to talk to Lucian or have a moment with him. His mate avoided or ignored him and busied himself with the work. Lucian was adjusting well with his teammates and slowly forming a bond with them.

Araki even tried to free himself and rushed down to meet Lucian and drop him home but was ignored by the alpha. His motive was to talk to his mate and ask him about the case.

However, it didn't go as planned and Araki was not bitter about it until the next day when his alpha mate called his roommate and went with him, ignoring Araki completely.

Araki watched them leave together in front of him. He just stood there as Lucian grabbed Elian's sleeve and pulled him towards the car, and went away. His mate never glanced at him. Araki was not able to stop Lucian knowing well the alpha would not listen to him.

If Araki has not seen Lucian in his vulnerable phase he might have believed that Lucian is not at all affected by the mate bond but Araki has been paying attention to Lucian a lot recently and has seen how easily this man can hide his pain and suffering if he wants to.

Araki was not sure how good that friend of Lucian is. He wanted to know more about this person. Earlier when he had to arrest Lucian he only looked into the information of his friends and didn't get into detail. Now that this person was in front of him Araki got curious.

If someone in Wolford should be approached for obtaining data on anyone, it is Yu Corporation. This true blood may look quiet and obedient to the leader but is a very lethal weapon, intentionally being dormant.

He looks around at his staff on the ground floor. None dared to raise their head and watch this scene, in fear of him scolding them. Araki then asks Mr. Han to prepone his appointment with the delegates and goes back to his room to carry on with his work.

Today is the third day and he has no hope of talking to Lucian. He has just occasionally glanced at Lucian from the screen and carried with his work. He is worried for his mate, he has to leave for a few days and won't be there in the office. He doesn't know how Lucian will manage if the rut occurs again or how he, himself is going to pass the day without looking at his mate up close.

Mr. Han knocks on the door and enters inside when Araki calls him. He sees Araki moving his finger on the bite mark and sighs internally. This has been going on for three days. His boss just keeps staring at the mark not saying anything or ordering him to call his mate.

He even suggested shifting Lucian's department. Mr. Han was willing to take him as an intern but Araki denied. He knows Lucian is quick-witted and if he came to know about this arrangement, he will quit in no time. Araki wanted to win him not scare him away.
