He was careless and cared about the consequences later, he lost his mom at the age of 5 and then it hit him. Reality hit him. He went more into smoking and drinking with the wrong crowd and meanwhile his wealthy ' father ' was living the life while he was getting bumped from foster home to foster home carrying bruises, scars, and a new trauma every time.
Ezra had a hate-love relationship with his life, his mother wasn't there to comfort him or tell him to stop being so playful he was sad. But it all stopped when at the age of 13 he moved in with Tony Stark his father. Yes, he knew he was starks kid but did he care no. He looked out for himself, buying himself food, clothing himself, and working a job. He grew his own tough skin he knew how to fight, which got him into trouble many times. But this isn't the point the point is he grew up without a father figure which caused many things to go on in Ezra's head, yea he was smart but when he wasn't working on something with his hand or head into a book he was a wild card never knowing what he could do next and he loved it, he loved every second of it.
