Summer 2022

I always wondered when next I would see you, Song Yoon-ah, after I dropped out, we never stayed in contact, you broke your promise, saying that you would care for the rest of your life, or maybe, you didn't.

Spring 2004, SUNGHAN HIGH SCHOOL

Over the course of the next few weeks, Yoon-ah and Dong-eun had become closer, which ultimately meant that Dong-eun's torture got worse and Yoon-ah found herself applying ointment to Dong-eun's scars more often, Dong-eun refusing to tell her friend who hurt her

Yeon-jin was angry to a point she wanted to kill Dong-eun, Yoon-ah was hers, how dare that lowlife scum Moon Dong-eun try to take her away, she would just have to scare Dong-eun away from her precious Yoon-ah

However, no matter how much Dong-eun tried to stay away from Yoon-ah, she always found her way back to the girl and today was no exception.

Yoon-ah sat on the cafeteria benches next to Sa-ra and Yeon-jin, the three girls talking about their Math assignment, "Yoon-ah," Sa-ra spoke sweetly, clinging to the girl's arm, "You have to help with the assignment, I'm not smart in Maths like you," Yeon-jin rolled her eyes and pushed Sa-ra off Yoon-ah

"You're not smart, period," Yeon-jin mumbled, before turning to her friend, "Am I still coming over to your house, tonight?" Yeon-jin asked, "Yes, my mother says she can't wait to meet my friends," Yeon-jin tilted her head slightly, "Friends? Who else did you invite?"

"Dongeunie, she's such a cutie, isn't she?" Yoon-ah gushed, failing to notice how Yeon-jin's face twitched out of anger, "Moon Dong-eun is coming?" Yeon-jin smiled, a very evil smile making its way to her face, "I don't know just yet, I invited her of course, but she didn't answer my letter," Yoon-ah pouted

"Really? I can make sure she got your letter," Yeon-jin smiled sweetly to her friend, "And here I was thinking you disliked Dong-eun," Yoon-ah laughed, like it was the craziest thing in the world, however she wasn't too far from the truth

"Why would I dislike her, Dong-eun is so sweet," Yeon-jin hesitated on the last part, which Yoon-ah didn't fail to notice this time, eyebrow raising, but she dropped it and continued talking to Sa-ra who had invited her for a party

"Sa-ra, all your parties are you kissing two different men which ends up in a threesome, drinking till you're shitfaced and getting high, I'm not in," Yoon-ah rolled her eyes to which Sa-ra rose her hands in defeat, "Fine, suit yourself," Sa-ra shrugged, not wanting to push her friend

Yoon-ah opened her mouth to speak when her phone began to buzz in her bag, she pulled it out, the name flashing "Mom," the girl abruptly stood up, flashing the screen to her friends who nodded in understanding

Making sure Yoon-ah was gone, Yeon-Jin scoffed in annoyance, "Moon Dong-run is so fucking persistent isn't she?" Yeon-Jin laughed sardonically, "What a bitch, do I need to kill her before she gets the fucking message?"

Yeon-Jin's eyes lit up, "Maybe I scare her away," she smiled evilly, before letting out a scoff, "God, I wish killing people was so easy, that bitch would be 6 feet under if I had the chance,"

Sa-ra looked at her friend not out of concern, but out of terror, how could a 17 year old have such dark thoughts? And how could they voice out these thoughts like they were normal?

One thing was for sure though, Park Yeon-Jin was the furthest thing from normal and Moon Dong-eun would find out just how insane Park Yeon-Jin really was

Yeon-Jin picked up the phone resting beside her and dialed a number, "Jae-joon, pay Moon Dong-eun a visit, tell her she's owing Yoon-ah a visit tonight,"

Summer 2022, Semyeong Elementary School
Dong-eun's heels clicked on the pavement as she made her way over to the young girl, the little girl was seated on a swing as her nanny pushed her on the swing

A phone ring and the nanny looked at the phone resting on her purse, "Da-hye, one moment, your mom is calling," Da-hye smiled up at the woman who hurriedly rushed off

"Lee Da-hye," Dong-eun called out her name, Da-hye looked up, "Good afternoon," Da-hye greeted, hopping off the swing to bow to the unfamiliar lady

"You're as respectful as your mother," Dong-Eun commented, Da-hye looked up, a smile making its way to her face at the mere mention of her mother, "Are you friends with my mom?" Da-hye hopped back onto the swing

Dong-eun made her way behind the girl and started softly pushing the swing, "We were friends, but we lost touch," Dong-eun explained

"You must be nice then, mom only has nice friends, like Aunt Yeon-Jin," Dong-eun scoffed softly, "Da-hye, don't be as naïve as your mother," Da-hye frowned, "I don't know what that means,"

"It means you should make friends with people once you know everything about them," Dong-run advised, she glanced at her watch and stepped back, making her way to the front of the girl, "Goodbye, Da-hye,"

Da-hye looked up and waved to the unfamiliar lady before pausing and watching as the lady walked away, "Miss, what's your name?" Da-hye yelled after her
