Hanna:

I'm stretching so I can get glasses to set the table for dinner. Why do they always put the glasses on the highest shelf? It's the most annoying thing.

"Do you need some help there Hanna?" Sam drawls from behind me and I startle. I don't even answer, and I feel his body pressed against mine and him reaching over me to grab glasses "how many do you need?" "Uhm 8?" I manage out flustered. He's so close. I can feel him pressing against my back.

"I don't know, how many are we. It's me you your mum my mum your dad my sisters your brothers your granny so yeah ten." "alright" he starts mindlessly passing the glasses down to me and I lay them on the counter.

"Thanks Sammy" "anytime Hanna".

He doesn't linger behind me and moves to stand next to me leaning against the counter and moving his head to look at me "are you just going to stand there and stare Sam? Because you can be useful and grab the plates"' I say with a smile" "a please would be nice Hannah jeeezzz"

I walk out of the kitchen, glasses in hand and Sam on my tail "you look pretty in pink by the way".

I blush thankful he is behind me and can't see. there it is though. I was waiting for his compliment of the day.

Every day since this year has started Sam has complimented me. Hair, makeup, shoes. Basically, whatever it is. "Thank you Sammy. Wore it just for you" I make sure to add an insinuating tone.

He is facing me now on the other side of the dining room table. He smiles, my heart skips I beat. I cough, divert my gaze, and start setting the glasses on the table.

Once Sam has set all the plates down, I yell out that the table is set, and our families start shuffling in. Sam and I just happen to take seats right next to each other, our knees touching, neither of us moving.

We just finished with dinner, and everyone's gone out for ice cream, Sam and I left alone at home. I decided not to go because I just really didn't feel like leaving the house, and well I guess Sam just decided to stay too. He does that a lot.

Trying got find moments to get us alone. I don't mind because well he is cute, and great to look at I won't lie. Brown eyes, brown wavy hair, soft features and such a tall frame.

People always imagined Sam and I together, given we've known each other since birth practically. Our families close family friends. I suppose we have always been close in a sense, only recently he's just been weird.

Like staring at me and always flirting. I've never really opened myself up to the idea of us because he has this ex and I'm so convinced he is still not over her. Nonetheless I can't deny that he isn't dreamy and that I haven't pictured us together in some sense or another.

We are packing dishes away now and I'mstruggling with the glasses again. Sam appears behind me and packs all theglasses away not saying a word. He closes the cupboard and just stands there. Hishands dropped on either side of me, caging me in.

There's this unexplainable tension and I don't know if it's the months of flirting or the way he looked at me today, but I decide to test and see what exactly I can do with this tension o fours. I push my hips back into him.

He takes a sharp inhale and grips my hips "don't be starting things you can't finish Hannah" I smile to myself "I'm not starting anything Sam" I push back further. Sam lets out an amused huff. "Turn around and jump darling" we're eye to eye now.

I wrap my hands around his neck edging forward.

Sam leans in his lip's inches from mine "Are you just going to tease me Hanna or do you have intentions of finishing what you started?"

I don't say a word and move my eyes around his face eventually landing on his lips.

I close the space between us and kiss him. Light and soft first.

"Ryan stop running" Sam jerks back and I panickily let out "oh my word they're back". I jump of the counter and straighten myself out finding something. anything to put away.

Sam moves to the door to open it before he shoves the key in the door he looks back and smiles "You owe me finishing what you started darling".

My heart skips a beat again
