3: Just a Friend

As days turned to weeks, weeks turned into months. At first things were slow, but eventually we became the best of friends. There wasn't a night where we never texted and called for hours on end. The longest was probably from 7 PM to 3 AM. Time just seemed to fly by when I was with you.
When we became friends, I was ecstatic. My goal when I first went to public school was to make a guy friend and that was exactly what I had achieved. We had so much in common. Both of us had immigrant parents, had an extensive palate, enjoyed gardening, and had a doctor as a parent. It was even more convenient that we had almost the same schedule.
Eventually, we were so wrapped up in our little interactions at school that I never realized how others viewed it. Soon enough,  rumors spreader like wildfire. Classmates were staring, teachers were gossiping, and my life was crumbling down. Because of you. YOU were the problem. Yet I kept coming back for more.
Rumor said that you had a crush on me.
