With Peter hanging with his father, and Mantis and Drax somewhere, Elara and Gamora are left. "I don't trust him." She says to her sister.
"Elara, you don't trust anyone you meet."
"For good reason. And I'm normally right. I'm happy for Peter, but there's another reason the walking, talking planet brought him, us, here." The girl is pacing in a small circle.
Gamora grabs her shoulders. "I hear you, okay, but just go along with it. If you're right, we'll deal with it, if not, then Peter can make his decision."
"Decision? He's going to leave us? He's the reason we're all together in the first place."
Gamora grimaces, comforting someone was not a strong point. "No, I... Do you trust me?" Elara nods. "When we get to where we're staying, you're getting some sleep." Elara looks confused until she starts to protest. "I'm going to stay with you okay. Because, if you're right, and Ego is bad, we don't want you falling asleep mid-fight."
Elara sighs, knowing she won't win. "Fine."
"Let's find Mantis and Drax." They find them sitting on the steps, tension in the air. "What's going on?"
"This gross bug lady is my friend." Drax declares.
"I'm learning many things, like I'm a pet and ugly."
"Drax!" Elara groans.
"You are not ugly. Drax!"
"What are you talking about?" He gestures to Mantis.
"Mantis, can you show us where we'll be staying?"
🌌🌌
They walk through a garden as the sun starts setting. Elara hated how gorgeous this place was. "Why are there no other beings on this planet?"
"The planet is Ego." Mantis answers Gamora. "A dog would not invite a flea to live on its back."
"And you're not a flea?" Elara nudges Gamora.
"A flea with a purpose. I help him sleep."
Gamora steps in front of Mantis so she has to stop walking. "What were you about to say to Drax before we walked out?"
She looks around, trying to dodge the question. "Nothing. Your quarters are this way." She walks off, the rest following.
They arrive as Elara picks a room. She chucks her bag on the bed before sitting on it, more like sinking. She lets herself fall backwards. This was the most comfortable bed Elara had ever laid on. Her eyes betray her as they slowly shut. "The bug is hiding something!" Gamora slams the door open, then slams it shut.
Elara sighs, "it's obvious she's scared. How she acts around him, when she talks about him."
"We need to find out what it is." Gamora sits next to Elara, who had an arm over her eyes.
