"Looks like you have prepared to be wasted tonight", Sean whispered into Janhae's ears as their bodies whirled and twirled with the music.
"I will not cry after today", she shouted.
"Hn", he smirked seeing her determination to finally get over. Sean won't be lying but he pitied Hyung more than Janhae. Janhae would be reentering her career soon, and in the busy life, she would get no time to remember her first love but Hyung- guilt was overpowering the guy. He was feeling as if he groomed her as if he had manipulated her innocent mind and taken advantage of her soft heart as if he had betrayed Janhae's mother who had entrusted upon him her responsibility, been ungrateful to the woman who had helped him in every phase of his life.
"Lemme get another drink", she mumbled and let go of his collar and staggered from one way to another till he lost trace of her in the crowd.
"Hyung", she cried seeing the passed-out man lying on the couch.
On the other hand, Soojin was busy on the barbeque counter, roasting the chicken, once in a while, getting in to check over her friends. She had to make sure to stay in her senses not only to protect her friends but also to drop them safely to their houses in the morning. She had messaged all of their mothers that they were staying in her house overnight.
"Seojun", she feigned a cry in annoyance seeing him trying to get on the bar, "Get down, get down", she ran to him and begged.
"Soojin", he smiled like a baby seeing her from the height. Managing to somehow get his ass on the counter, he took her face in his palms, "You are so pretty Soojin. You are prettier than me. See", and playing with her eyelids, nose, and cheeks.
"Seojun", she smiled softly, "Do you like me?" Only she knew her fast her heart was beating, how desperate she was for the answer. Never had she thought that she could get this nervous.
Seeing him bring his face closer to her, a sense of relief filled her heart. With the closing distance between them, a shade of red flushed on her cheeks and she closed her eyes, her lips distancing, giving way to him.
But just then a force pushed her away.
"No. I can't do it. You belong to Yeon. I can only take care of you." Even in the loud music, every word from his word got registered in her brain. She did not dare to open her eyes, it must be a nightmare. If he would have rejected her, she could have accepted it but she was just a responsibility. He was just bound to take care of her, maybe he did not even view her as a friend.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, a sudden scream awakened her. The man in front of her had dozed off sitting. Her eyes went for Janhae in the crowd but she was nowhere. Sean seemed to be busy dancing with someone else.
"Bitch. Leave my hair", she cursed, pulling her hair out of the other one's grip.
"How dare you kiss my boyfriend?", the other girl shouted.
"Your boyfriend. You- daughter of a whore. How dare you call my Hyung your boyfriend? Aren't you satisfied with one? Always craving for two", Janhae cursed in response.
"I don't care whoever this Hyung is but your lips on my Suho's forehead", Jugyeong fought.
"Suho", she wondered, "Who Suho?"
"Oooh, Lee Suho", she recollected and laughed, "Why would I kiss Mr. Cold Face? Keep Mr. Boring to yourself and don't you dare me", her voice suddenly changed, "If I try to seduce him, you have no stand", she warned.
The next second, Jugyeong had attacked and both the girls were throwing hands at each other.
As soon as Soojin spotted them, she intervened, "Stop it both of you."
"Stay away", the girls in the fight bawled with rolled eyes and continued trying to kill each other.
"Who is making so much noise?", Suho had come there too. Or more like their fight had dragged him out of his couch and forced him to walk there, rubbing his eyes. Seeing the scenario in front, his eyes were flashed open. Intoxication and hangover seemed to have eloped.
"Sorry sorry sorry", he repeated apologizing while forcefully carrying away Jugyeong from the scene.
"Jugyeong, sit quietly", Suho ordered while fastening the seat belt.
"You are acting like it's my fault. I saw her kissing you", she cried angrily.
"She was drunk. And you came to this party alone. Don't you know how many types of people are present in these parties?", he scolded out of concern.
"Didn't you come here alone too?"
"I know many people here. Moreover, I was-"
She snapped out again before he could justify himself, "You have changed. It's not the same anymore."
"You are angry now. We shall talk later. I will call a driver", he patted her head smiling, and left.
==========
"Let's go home", Soojin struggled to drag both her friends across the road when a bright light flashed in front of their eyes, blinding the three of them. No horn was heard, only the vrooming of the car echoed in the deserted street.
Their feet ran cold as the car approached closer and closer at an inhuman speed. Seojun immediately pushed his friends towards the sidewalk and before he could take a step to protect himself, he was flying in another direction.
As the car sped away, Soojin's eyes remained fixed on the number plate.
