Chapter 8

It was Saturday morning. I woke up and honestly, forgot about my date with Luke.

My mother came in the room about five minutes after I woke up,explaining to me that I shouldn't keep my 5SOS posters on the ground and to hang them on my bedroom wall. That's when I saw Luke on one of the posters,him eating a watermelon, and remembering our date. I grabbed the poster off the floor and thought that it would look the best above my bed. Before I hung it, I just couldn't help but stare at it. They were all so handsome, but when I say 'they all', I'm really just talking about Luke. His eyes were this perfect blue color that I couldn't help but smile at.

Kaley and I needed to catch up, so we went to the salon-which was great because I had to get pampered for the date.

Kaley and I mainly talked about our favorite bands and our crushes.

"So,what is your favorite band?" Kaley asked eagerly.

"Five Seconds of Summer is my favorite..."

"Mine too!" Kaley interrupted.

"Well," I continued,"My crush is from their band. Luke. And it's not one of those weird celebrity crushes... I mean I did used to have that weird celebrity crush with him at first, but not anymore. It's different now."

"How so?"

"I moved here from America a few months ago,if you couldn't tell by the accent. My neighbor actually ended up being Luke. We met at our school's bus stop and from the first moment we met, I knew my celebrity crush thing was different. It was more of a...real crush. And I'm very fortunate because he asked me on a date tonight at 6:30."

"Oh my god!" She exclaimed,"That is awesome,Jordan!"

My phone rang. I looked down at it and it was a text from Luke.

"Here's Luke now," I said as I quickly unlocked my phone to see the text.

Luke:

Hey Jordan make sure you wear something nice tonight, but comfortable. Thx! <3

I showed Kaley the unusually exciting text. She gave me a mischievous smile and snatched the phone out of my hand.

Me(well actually Kaley):

No problem Luke!See you at 6:30!!<3

As she typed she looked at me and said,"You guys are gonna do something really special tonight, I bet."

She set down the phone on the black marble table.

"We need to go shopping," she exclaimed quickly so that I couldn't say no.

Kaley pulled me out of the chair and ran to the front counter. Once she handed the employee behind the desk the appropriate amount of money, she bolted out of the building.

We went to a store called Radioactive and I found a really cute outfit. It was a gray,sleeveless t-shirt that said Green Day on it(I got it because I knew Luke would like) and some light blue shorts that complimented the rest of the colors in the shirt. When I was at the check out, Kaley spotted a silver, chained bracelet with the infinity sign in the middle. She took it from the display and set it on the counter, next to the rest of the items, for checkout. She had great taste.

After I got home, I looked at the clock on the kitchen wall and it was already 5:30. I jogged upstairs to my bedroom to change.My outfit was, just like Luke asked,cute and comfortable. I also put on some makeup to enhance my look. I wore all of the general makeup, but added a little more-which I originally didn't want, but it looked good anyways.

By the time I walked downstairs,it was 6:25. I chose to anxiously wait in the den for Luke's arrival.

Ring!

The doorbell.

Luke's here... Okay, okay breathe Jordan. Just open the door and say "hi"... Or will that be too awkward for him?Okay Jordan JUST OPEN THE DOOR!

As I grasped the doorknob and turned it,I realized that this was actually happening. I took a deep breath and opened the door.

Luke was leaning against the doorframe. He made me blush, so he gave me a small smile. He wore black skinny jeans and a Green Day t-shirt.

"Great minds think alike," he said as he pointed at his shirt, then mine. His smile was so big and happy that it made me blush, once again.

"Yes... I guess so," I exclaimed to him.

"Ready to go?" He asked me whilst scratching behind his ear, then putting his hands in his pockets afterwards.

"Let's go!"

Luke drove his mom's car to our destination(I didn't know where we were going). He pulled into a small parking lot. We were surrounded by small stores and restaurants.

"Let's go!" He said.

"Where are we going?"

"Follow me."

We walked around a building near the truck. When we made it to the back of the building,I saw something beautiful. The beach was sitting in front of us. Luke took my wrist and dragged me to an umbrella, that I assumed he had set up earlier.Underneath, I saw a picnic basket and a bag from the store I was at with Kaley- Radioactive.

"What is this?" I questioned Luke, while snatching the bag.There was a purple and pink chevron bikini inside.

"I got you a bathing suit so that we could go swimming... I didn't want to ask you to bring your own bikini because I wanted going to the beach to be a surprise."

"It's gorgeous!" I replied to him.

I went to the car and changed into the bikini. When I came back to the umbrella, I saw that he had set up our dinner from the picnic basket. There were hamburgers and potato chips, along with cantaloupe and strawberries on the side.

"So romantic!" I giggled.

"Thank you very much," he joked.

As we ate our meal, it was silent as we listened to the waves in the ocean. I looked over a moment later, and Luke was smiling at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing...your just beautiful."

I was stunned. This was the first time a boy has called me beautiful, other than my grandfather.

"Your not to bad yourself,"I smiled.

We went swimming for about an hour,but it started to get dark, so we left the beach and sat on the old pier. The stars were reflecting off of the ocean. I have to say, it was a perfect date night.

We sat on the pier and watched the waves on the horizon. Luke and I glanced at each other and smiled. He was so handsome I couldn't handle it.

He stood up, pulling me up with him.

"Thanks for an amazing night, Luke," I whispered.

I looked down at the pier's wooden floor. Then suddenly, I felt his hand on my arm. I looked up at him, his eyes sparkling in the moon's light.I felt his lips touch mine slowly. A thousand thoughts were going through my head at this point, but only one word can describe all of them together.
