The Protector

Chapter One

My name is Darkness but I am called many things, Monster, Beast, Killer, Killer of predacons, Demon, and many more names, but those who truly know me call me Night or Shade. I live in the lands between the predacon territory and Cybertronian cities. I lived alone due to my... past... 'Grrr' Just thinking about it makes me pissed. But anyways... I have one friend and his name is Ratchet, hes a medic in training, the medic would come and see me everyday and tell me what happened that day, but after months he... stopped showing up.

I would still stay outside and wait but he never showed.... after awhile I gave up and just went inside my den I stayed there as it was connected to an energon mine so I had what I needed to survive. I never left I only fought if someone neared my cave, which was a lot of predacons and Cybertronian. One day however four Cybertronian entered my cave they were fighting each other one looked strangely familiar before I realized who it was I jumped down and threw the one that was attacking him away I pinned the other two bots who were fighting and I snarled, it was hard to see me given the darkness of the cave. 

"Dark?" The white and orange bot asked, I growled softly in reply, that was the medic, He left me why should I be nice to him now. I grabbed the silver bot and blue/red Cybertronian in my mouth before throwing them outside my den, I tossed the other bot I threw out also. I then turned to Ratchet and snarled at him.

"You have the nerve to return after years?!" I growl, furry in my voice and eyes as I walked towards him backing him up agaisnt a wall. "You are not welcome here!" I snarl before turning and headed deeper into my cave. I grabbed and energon crystal and then headed back up to the larger part of my cave.

"Dark look, I didn't leave you intentionally, war broke out I couldn't get a break to come and see you." He tried to explain. I snarled baring my fangs at him, anger and pain clear in my eyes.

"You left." I growl shaking my head I spread my wings angry, he slowly walked towards me. 

"I hated having to be away from you." The medic said as he knelt down beside me his servo extended a bit. I growled at him and ate the energon in front of me. I felt a servo gently pressed up agaisnt my shoulder I growled at the servo's owner, Ratchet. I then felt him gently move his servo down to my side, I stopped growling and leaned into the touch.

"Hey." He smiled gently moving his servo up to my head. I allowed him and closed my eyes. 

"Ratchet lets go." The red/blue mech called.

"Go." I growl before hearing another predacon.

"Snakewing calm down I'm fine." The mech said holding his servos out to the silver and greyish green predacon. The predacon snarls walking towards me I growl back baring my fangs more in fear that anger at this point the Predacon walked up towards me and towered over me snarling down at me. 

I growl and he does back before quickly biting down on my neck making me roar out in pain, he let go of me and quickly pinned me down pressing his claws down onto my snout and shoulder I growled in pain, 

"Snakewing, Don't hurt him!" Ratchet yelled at the predacon above me, I looked at the mech and growl, I wanted to be left alone what didn't they understand about that?

The predacon above me growled but got off me and I growled but quickly got up and then blasted fire and lightning between me and the others I growl before turning and quickly diving deeper into my cave, my tail slammed into the only picture me and Ratchet had together, it fell and went into the flames, I didn't care if it burned, he betrayed me and I won't let myself be betrayed again.

I dove into the energon cave and blasted the ceiling to colapse the enerance between me and them. I misjudge how strong it was as the whole cave began to crumble, I looked down before jumping and diving into a area where most my energon stash was and curled around it if I was stuck I didn't want to starve to death.

(Ratchet's POV)

"Dark!" I yelled and reached out as the cave colapsed, Snakewing grabbed something from the fire before he jummped just barely making it out of. I looked down Optimus put a servo on my shoulder which I shrugged off I heard Snakewing growling before walking over to me.

"You know that Killer!" He snarls, at me I turned and glared at him

"He is no killer!" I yelled with a growl of my own. Snakewing used his tail to move a datapad with the picture of me and Darkness together as the main pictures. Darkness had been sprawled out across my lap grinning up at the camera, I had been working on my studies when he did. 

"He killed many of my kind! and yours!" The predacon snarls before Optimus got between us gently pushing me back while he had his back to the predacon's chassis.

I growled before grabbing the datapad and then called for a ground bridge stalking through it when it appeared, I heard Optimus sigh and then he and his predacon followed after me, I entered the base and went straight back to my room. 

I sat down on my berth putting the datapad down before frowning as I noticed there were enteries. I opened one.

'At this point I've lost track of how many days its been since.... he has showed up, my spark hurts, he abandoned me.... did I? did I do something to deserve this? did he listen to the stories about me killing them? I only killed them because they were going to kill me... I... I should have never trusted him.... he left and he can kill me....' 

I covered my mouth hearing this, my optics wide. "He thought I left him..... He thought I wanted him dead.." I whisper before hearing as there was another entry

'Gahhh.... the pain is becoming worse.... I don't know why.... I need to just start letting them kill me.... I can't deal with the pain.. No Ratch.... he won't want you to do that *ROAR* Why is this such a challenge!!!!' 

'The pain stopped.... thank fully.. I want to know why it was even here in the first place, is it becuse of Him is that why?'

I flinched at the way Darkness said Him it soundedd almost threatening. I heard a knock on my door and I looked up before turned the datapad off. "What is it!" I called

"It's just me, Old friend" I hear Optimus say from outside my room. "Can I come in?" he asks and I sent a mental command to the door and let him in. 

"What?" I asked

"There is a life signal in the cave" I looked at him shocked and suprised.
