Author POV

Truth or dare. That's what got me into this mess in the first place. If only Rouge didn't change the rules, then maybe, this wouldn't have happened. She just had to change up the rules, but only I know why she did it. It was probably because she was trying to get with someone she liked, but I wouldn't know that until later.

Let's start from the beginning.

"Maverick! Get your butt over here!" Sonic said over the phone. I was sitting on my couch at my house when he called. Maybe, I shouldn't be eating ice cream at 11 AM, but who cares? "Sonic, you know, I'm not sure if I should go..." I said to him, apprehensive. "Come on! Just bring some food and come on over later! It'll be fun!" Sonic tried to convince me.

I did NOT want to be threatened by Amy again.

Amy was pretty aggressive last time when I was around Sonic, she thinks I like him. She wouldn't be wrong on that front, but still, she keeps bothering me. I kept this information from Sonic because I didn't want to bother him with my problems. I care about him too much for him to waste his time paying attention to what I have going on. "But Sonic... I am tired..." I tried to get out of it. "Please? I really need you here! You make these parties so much fun!" Sonic begged. I signed and started to get up off the couch. "Fine." I said. He cheered and I smiled at this, happy to make him happy. "See you soon!" He said before we hung up.

Next thing I know, I was at Sonic's door, carrying items to make chili dogs. Amy had flounced up to the door and opened it with a smile, before it turned sour. "Ugh. You. Didn't Sonic make a list for attractive and cool people only?" She commented. My eyes narrowed at her and my teeth started to show as she continued. "Y'know, you're not wanted here! Sonic would want me more than you! You're not even really a friend! You're a temporary placement!" She said. I was becoming more and more irritated, ready to snap.

Thank God for Shadow the Hedgehog.

"Amy. What are you doing?" He asked behind her. "Uh, nothing! Maverick was dropping off the food and going back home! She's tired! Aren't you tired?" She asked coyly. "Here, let me take it off your hands so you can go take a nap at home-" She reached out to me and tried to snag the bags. I moved out of her reach and she looked upset. "I actually came here because Sonic invited me. She's not letting me in." I said, still angry. "You said you were tired Maverick! Just, go home!" She tried to snag it again and I just dipped in the house as she got agitated outside.

Sonic greeted me happily and I made my food. Amy was pissed the whole time, and the day started to turn to night before I knew it. Even the Chaotix (excluding Charmy) came over to see what's going on. Some danced, some talked, and one stood in a corner and said not one thing unless someone spoke to them. "Alright guys! Come on around, let's play a game!" Rouge called. "Ooh! Let's do Truth or Dare!" Amy said, giving me a smirk. I ignored her and I sat beside Sonic on the floor. Amy sat on his other side, giggling like a school child. I held in a groan as she did it, but I smiled as Knuckles sat on my other side and ruffled my hair.

"We know the rules! Someone chooses a person and asks them truth or dare. The person chooses one and they either have to answer a truth or do a dare. If you do a dare, you have to complete it! If you don't, I will figure out a punishment. You guys ready?" Rouge asked. We all nodded and she smiled. "Great! I'll go first! Knuckles! Truth or dare, hun?" She asked.

The game continued on, and I was SURE that Amy was trying to get a kiss out of Sonic the whole time. It was sad. Knuckles had to pour fruit punch on himself, Rouge admitted that she had a crush on someone, Shadow (who wasn't participating) was hugged by me (but he accepted it without smiting me), and Sonic had to dance. As the game went on, I saw a evil gleam in Rouge's eye, and I knew something was up.
