I pull up in Alexei's car to the front of the FBI building, reminiscing at the memories left at its steps, some good, some not.
It's surprising that two years passed since I stepped foot near this place and nothing changed. The smell was the same, the big glass doors with the FBI's logo printed on the front was still the same, I even recognize some people walking in and out.
After parking, I walk up the steps, and into the building, heading to the elevator. From the corner of my eye, I see some familiar faces staring at me as I continue walking to the elevator, pressing button 6 and going up.
When I was in the FBI, I was more into action than profiling, but seeing what that got me, I was glad to be called for a case in the BAU, it can't be as full of performance as what I'd done before.
The elevator doors open to floor 6, and the bullpen through the glass doors I'm looking at right now is very agitated. Agents sitting at their desks on their phones, some getting up with hands full of papers walking out, others typing on computers - It's a mess.
