About 17 years ago, I started watching tennis. I'm pretty sure it was the US Open. Today, I find myself finding any opportunity to play with friends, family, or even strangers.
Tennis has been the only constant passion of mine. Oddly, I have never felt as strongly about anything else, and I don't know why. It's the only sport that I will watch entire matches, read about online, get involved in conversations for, and then go play afterwards. Recently, I even tried my hand at applying for the tennis organization in Canada (failed).
Some of my favourite players include Andy Murray (yes, he whines a lot), Novak Djokovic, Kei Nishikori, and Serena Williams. At some point in my lifetime, I will be making it a point to attend all four major Grand Slams (equivalent of the stanley cup or superbowl in terms of sport importance, but definitely a lot less fanfare). Each are held in different parts of the world.
Australian Open - Melbourne, Australia
French Open - Paris, France
Wimbledon - London, England
US Open - New York, USA
Definitely won't be an easy thing to attend each, primarily because ticket prices on top of airfare and accommodations will be pretty astronomical, but I'll find a way. In the meantime, I'll continue to learn how to play the sport (just picked it up 3 summers ago, and recently have been learning from a friend/former tennis coach @nickuskoski) and watch any moment I get.
That's all from me this time around. Is there anyone out there who is super passionate about one particular thing, as I am with tennis? Comment below!
(BTW, is there a way to display location when I publish a chapter)
