♡Chapter 4

"So, tell me your answer, Monu," Deepak asked eagerly.

Monu's face lit up with joy as she replied, "It's a yes, Dad!"

Dinesh turned to Karan and asked, "What about you, Karan?"

With a smile on his face, Karan responded, "It's a yes from me too, Dad!"

Happiness filled the room as everyone shared their well-wishes and congratulations with one another.

Rajini, in her excitement, exclaimed, "Mere khayal se, hume inki shaadi jaldi se jaldi karwani chahiye!"
(In my opinion, we should get them married as soon as possible!)

Juhi, concerned, asked, "Why the rush, Rajini? Is there any particular reason?"

"Juhi! As you all know, Karan is a commando. What if he receives a new mission and gets busy for weeks? That's the only reason," Rajini explained.

Juhi pondered for a moment and then replied, "I understand. In that case, we'll contact Pandit Ji and finalize the wedding dates as soon as possible!"

With their decision made, the family embarked on the joyful journey of planning Monu and Karan's wedding, ensuring that the celebration would be a memorable one for everyone involved.

Shergill's are ready for their departure to their house. Monami couldn't help but steal glances at Karan, and to her surprise, she found him doing the same. Their eyes met for a brief moment, but the unspoken connection between them was intense.

As the minutes ticked by, Karan felt a sense of restlessness, prompting him to excuse himself from the gathering. Discreetly slipping away, he found solace in the serenity of the balcony where Monu stood, lost in her thoughts.

With a hint of excitement in her voice, Monu broke the silence, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Karan! Let's find a place where we can meet without anyone suspecting a thing."

Concerned, Karan furrowed his brows. "Is everything alright, Monu? Why do we need to be so secretive?"

Monu reassured him, her voice tinged with a touch of mischief. "No, no! It's not that. I just think it would be best if we keep our relation a secret. We wouldn't want our friends accidentally revealing our secret, would we?"

Understanding her point, Karan nodded in agreement, a smile playing on his lips. "You're right, Monu. We should take precautions. I'll call Sanju and Faizi, and you can reach out to Koel and Sidd. We can arrange to meet at a coffee shop or somewhere. Let's sort this matter out together."

Monu's face lit up with excitement, her smile widening. "That sounds like a plan, Karan. Let's make the arrangements and ensure our secret remains hidden."

They heard Dinesh Shergill calling Karan. Karan returned back to the living room. They bid bye to everyone and left to the Shergill Mansion. 

As the appointed time arrived, Karan and Monu arrived at the coffee shop, their eyes briefly meeting as they exchanged knowing smiles. They found solace in the dimly lit corner of the cozy cafe. As they got comfortable, they noticed a girl and a boy making their way towards them.

"Finally, you guys made it!" Karan exclaimed, relieved.

"Hey, Monami!" greeted the boy with a warm smile.

"What took you so long?" Karan inquired curiously.

"Je ka bol raho hai sirji! Aap jaanto hai naa.. Mumbai ka je raddi sadke." the girl replied, rolling her eyes. (Arrey, sirji, you know how it is. Mumbai's notorious traffic!)

"Arey Sanju Motarma, ye janaab hamara baat kyu sunega.. Monami Motarma hainaa.. abb hum hein hi kon inhe.. haina karan!" the boy teased, playfully nudging Karan. (Oh, come on, Miss Sanju . Why would this gentleman listen to us? Miss Monami is here now. Who are we compared to her, right, Karan?)

"Bas bhi kardo yaar faizi"  karan replied, rolling his eyes. (Now stop it faizi)

"Guys! We need to discuss an important topic!"  said monami stopping them to tease.

"Where are sidd and koel??" inquired karan.

They noticed koel and sidd making their to the table. 

"Yoo Karan bro Hello!" greeted sidd.

Karan greeted them back. As they settled in their places karan started the topic.

"We are going to engaged!" said karan.

"OMG!! CONGRRATULATIONS KARAN/SIRJI" everyone shouted all together. 

"Hello! someone congratulate me tooo.. I am also getting engaged.. With this khadoos" monami frowned.

"Arey! This is not the topic.. Yes we are getting engaged but.. Our parents don't know about our 5 years relation!" said karan.

"What?? Karan.. Wait is this an ARRANGED MARRIAGE??" Asked faizi.

Momani and karan nodded 

"You didn't informed to your parent's, But why?"

"You know  right faizi, Maa papa don't believe in the love marriages. They saw some marriages turning bad. They'll think we are risking our relation. That's the only reason to hide from our parents." said Karan.

Faizi's eyebrows knitted with concern as he listened to Karan's explanation. 

"But Karan, you've been in a relationship with Monami for five years. Aren't you worried about how your parents will react when they find out about your secret love story?" asked Koel.

Karan sighed, his face etched with a mix of anxiety and determination. "I am, Koel, but you know how important family is to me. They mean the world, and I don't want to risk that. Monami and I agreed that it's time to take this step, to make our relationship official. We hope that our families will understand and support us."

Monami chimed in, "And besides, we've seen countless love stories face adversity and come out stronger. We believe in us, and we believe in our love. We're ready to face whatever comes our way."

They nodded slowly, understanding the depth of their commitment. "I get it, but it won't be easy. The truth always has a way of surfacing, especially when it involves something as significant as your marriage." said Sanjana.

Karan looked at Monami, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions, then turned back to Sanju. "We're well aware of the challenges. It's just... we needed to take this first step. We'll tell our parents, but we wanted our engagement to be a sign of our commitment. Then, we'll face the storm together."

Sidd leaned in closer, his tone full of support. "You know we're all here for you, right? You can count on your friends for anything. If you need help explaining, convincing, or even a place to stay if things get complicated, we're with you."

Monami smiled, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Sidd. Your support means the world to us. We're hoping for the best."

Karan received a call from Rajini Shergill that engagement date is confirmed.
