Olivia Swan
It was a pretty normal day until I got home a little later than usual. I had decided to stick around the library until they closed, so I didn't get home until almost 9pm. As I walked up the street I noticed a car parked in front of the house, I recognized the car, although I couldn't pinpoint where I had seen it before. I approached the house and unlocked the door before entering and taking my sneakers off, they were muddy so I decided against wearing them on our carpets. I put my bag down and made my way to the living room where I spotted a familiar face, Alice Cullen.
"Alice?" I said softly, she turned and smiled at the sight of me before standing and rushing over to hug me tight.
"Via! I'm so happy to see you! Oh you sweet thing, I could just crush you!" She said happily and she squeezed me and held me close as if she didn't want to let me go. When she finally did let go, it was because Bella came in, she looked like she had been drenched recently.
They had a back and forth conversation for a few minutes, which at some point Jacob showed up and got involved. I was happy to see him, it had been a while. I was barely listening, sleep was something I had been lacking for almost a week now so my attention span was short to say the least.
"We have to stop him, I'm not going to let him die!" Bella shouted, it had caught my attention quickly, they began speaking about Volterra Italy. I had always wanted to go, even if just for a day.
"Can I come too? I love the history of Volterra, I read somewhere that it used to be ruled by vampiric creatures. And it's old, so that's cool too." I said nonchalantly, not entirely sure what they were talking about.
Bella, without hesitation, had agreed to it, Alice looked uncertain but couldn't argue with Bella's immediate response. Before rushing out of the house I grabbed my bag and a blanket, Alice smiled at me when she saw the blanket I had grabbed. It was one my dad had been given by Billy Black a long time ago, I fell I love with it the first time I saw it. It became a big comfort in my life. I must have zoned out because soon enough we were at the airport buying tickets, I didn't even realize that I had gotten out of the car. I had my bag over my shoulder and the blanket wrapped around me, I didn't realize how cold I was until I became conscious once again.
After an hour of anxious waiting, we boarded the plane and set off for Volterra Italy. We got there in record time, well, we got to the closest airport to Volterra in record time. We had to rent a car and drive the rest of the way, when we got there the streets were crowded with people in red cloaks.
"I remember reading about Saint Marcos day, but I didn't think I would ever get to witness it. Wow." I stated before watching Bella get out of the car and start running through the streets and alleyways of the old city. Alice and I found somewhere to park the car and made our way to the clock tower, I had left my blanket in the car as to not dirty it or lose it.
When we got there, Alice opened the door with great force. Inside were beautifully decorated hallways, and my sister embraced in Edwards arms. It was nice to see Bella happy again after so long, I quickly noticed the two men watching us. One was a dirty blonde man who was about average height for a guy, he had a unique build, though he had layers on top of layers dressing him, you could tell he had a bit of a muscular frame. The other man stood about a foot and a half taller than me, he had dark brown hair and had a very muscular build, he was very handsome as well. They only thing that really stuck out to me, were there blood red eyes. It felt as if they could pierce my soul with just a glance.
A young girl around my age appeared and lead the group to a small elevator where I was squished between the two men. I wasn't uncomfortable per se, but wasn't exactly in the right mindset to be comfortable in the first place. As of an hour ago I officially hadn't slept in seven days, and it was really taking a toll on my already very weak body and muscles. I could feel my legs begging to give out and my body to shut down, but I continued forward as if nothing was wrong. I couldn't worry Bella right now, she was worried about Edward, so I kept quiet and fought the urge to cry from exhaustion.
When the elevator finally opened, we were lead to a large room where three men sat on thrones, their red eyes unnerving me as they followed the four of us with great focus.
"Bella is alive after all! I do love happy endings." The man in the middle said as he stood from his throne, he had a tone to his voice the frightened me.
He and Edward spoke to one another, and grew more exhausted emotionally and physically. I could feel me myself growing colder, I began shivering next to Alice and my sister. I suddenly felt something warm and heavy being placed on my shoulders, I turned to see the taller man from before adjusting it to make sure I was warm. I smiled at him, silently thanking him for the kind gesture and wrapped myself in the cloak he provided me with. Though my smile didn't last long as a felt my legs give way underneath me, my knees buckled as I fell to the floor onto my knees. I maneuvered so I was sitting on my butt with my legs crossed, I leaned my elbow on my knee and rested my head on my hand.
"Magnifico! She confounds us all... but what of her sister, I do wonder." The man, who's name I heard was Aro, spoke lightly clearly addressing my existence.
"Don't touch her! She doesn't know what's going on!" Edward exclaimed, something that all of the Cullens had in common was protecting me whenever they could.
Suddenly, but gently my hand was taken into someone's grasp, their hand was cold and I wanted so desperately to pull away from it. I was already cold to begin with, I didn't want to be cold anymore. Soon enough though, my hand was released from its cold prison.
"Amazing! I cannot read miss Bella's mind, but I can young Olivia's. Fascinating..." he trailed off, I looked up to see him grasp the hand of one of the other men who he sat with previously.
"Remarkable, it would appear that the young Swan is mated to Felix. But now what to do?" He trailed once again, I could feel myself slip into subconsciousness. I was no longer aware of the world around me and my mind took a break from everything around me.
"It is settled then, Bella is to be turned within the year, and young Olivia will stay here with her mate." Aro spoke clearly and calmly, but i refused to stay quiet for such a thing as this.
"No I'm not, I would love to stay and be with my 'mate', but I haven't even graduated high school yet. I'm only sixteen, I can't just not go home. It's lovely here, yes. I like my home a bit too much to give it up. I'm sorry, but no." I said quickly, so I couldn't be interrupted.
"I will go with her, she can finish school before she is turned and must come back to Volterra and stay. That is if you will allow it." The tall man, who must be Felix, spoke softly and with a tone of respect he clearly help for the men before him.
They agreed and allowed us to go, I think Felix somehow knew that I couldn't stand on my own. He bent down and lifted me off the ground, he held me gently and close. It was comfortable in his arms, and I grew tired quickly. After a week without sleep, I was finally able to find it with the muttering of my blanket in the car before falling into a deep slumber. It had been a surprisingly long day.
