Chapter 52

General's pov
Almost two weeks later and everyone was back at the firehouse for a new shift, a couple of things had happened. Mouch did sell Veronicat and he thought Brett would get really mad but she was really happy about it, Stella is a lieutenant now and she did a great job with the lieutenant test.
One more chance has changed that was a new thing as well, they are no longer two people on ambo 61 so instead they are three people.

Shift had started and everyone was gathered in the briefing room because of the morning meeting that chief had told everyone to be at.  Chief was telling the guys a couple of things but he saved one thing that was about one of the guys on truck 81.

Boden - Okay, and last item: A week from Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Hill will bestow the Firefighter's Award of Valor upon one Randall McHolland.

Everyone was cheering and applauding since it was a big thing for Mouch and everyone was happy for him, and Mouch usually don't feel appreciated when he is in the age he is now.

Boden - However, due to limitations on the size of gatherings, there will not be the usual ballroom event. I'm really sorry, Mouch.

Mouch - That is a-okay. I don't want a whole big thing.

Boden - HQ has put it on us to secure a venue of a smaller, more socially distanced version. Ritter, Gallo, maybe the two of you could handle that.

Ritter - We'd love to.

Gallo - Sure thing.

Boden - Good. Dismissed.

Chief walked out of the room and everyone else in the room got up from where they where sitting, some of them left the room and some of them stayed there like Mouch, Gallo and Ritter.

Ritter - Hey, Mouch.

Mouch - Trudy has some ideas she wants to share. She'll be coming by later.

Gallo - Awesome.

Herrmann - Good luck with that.

Casey and Brooke was walking next to each other when Brett came walking toward them as they where gonna walk out of the briefing room.

Brett - You two want  to hear something weird?

Casey - Always.

Brett - I've kind of been missing Veronicat.

Brooklyn - No.

Brett - Yes. She was terrifying, but she was also very entertaining.

Casey - I think you need to find a less dangerous form of entertainment... cockfighting maybe.

Brooklyn - it's a good thing that you are having a baby who can entertain you.

Brett - yeah.

The three of them where out talking in the hallway of the firehouse, Casey had been helping a few times when Brett had Veronicat but when Brooke was the one who needed to bring the cat to the firehouse and Casey let them keep the cat in his office two weeks ago.

Capp - Captain, Gabby Dawson's on the house phone. She wants to talk to you.

Brooklyn - Wow, that's, um...Say hi for me. It's been a while.

Brett - say hi from me too.

Casey - Yeah, I will.

He was just gonna walk away from the two paramedics and they where gonna walk in the direction of the common room but the two paramedics got stopped because of the bell that went off.

Brooklyn's pov
Just a few hours had passed of the shift and it wasn't even lunch time yet and it is around two hours until that, but me, Brett and Violet just got back to firehouse after they have been out on a call. We walked in through the doors in to the firehouse when Casey came walking in the hallway and he stopped when he saw me and Brett.
