I'm sorry if any formatting of the book has been weird lately. I've been using my laptop to write, and it doesn't translate well to phone.

Jay was released from the hospital wing only a few days after he woke up. Some of the other ninjas had tried to visit a few times, but every time they did he would pretend to be asleep. He'd been dreading about returning. Not because of the school work he would have to catch up on, he'd been exempt from that, but because he'd have to face them again. He wasn't even happy to get back to the Hufflepuff dorms, as Cole would surely try to talk to him there.

Jay now had two voices telling him things, but neither were good. One said "your 'friends' only need you to fix the machine", and the other said "you need to distance yourself from them, they don't need a friend who puts them in situations like this". They were very similar thoughts, so neither of them stomped the other out. Both of them lingered there like a bad dream.

Jay took a deep breath, banged the Helga Hufflepuff chant on the barrels, as he had to do to be able to enter the common room, and walked in. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw Cole wasn't there.

Jay had gone back to not sleeping well the day he woke up. This time, it was much worse. Nightmares, guilt, and scenarios tainted his mind.

When it turned to six pm, Jay made his way to the boys dorms. Cole would be coming back to the common room soon, and he didn't feel like being confronted. He got in bed, and pretended to fall asleep.

He didn't.

Jay got up early the next morning, as to not have a run-in with Cole. He quickly ate breakfast in the great hall, and then headed to wait outside the door of his first class, which was transfiguration. He checked the time. He still had about twenty minutes until the class would start.

About ten minutes in, he spotted Kai walking down the hallway. Jay quickly hid around a corner. Another five minutes passed. More of the class started to show up. Jay could hear Cole and Kai talking about him.

"Did you talk to him?" Kai asked.

"By the time I got back last night, he was asleep, and I haven't seen him all morning." Cole answered.

"Do you have any idea why he would be avoiding you?"

"You've seen how he's been acting all year. Who knows what's been going through his mind." The rest of their conversation got drowned out by the rest of the class showing up. Jay tried to blend into the crowd when it was time to head into the classroom. He sat in the back.

Jay's anxiety grew as the class went on, and every time Kai and Cole glanced at him. He tried to focus on what Professor McGonagall was saying, but he couldn't. His stomach churned, and his body started to violently sweat.

Then it was finally time to go. Jay quickly gathered his things, and rushed out of the classroom.

"Jay! Wait!"
