Chapter 7 - A Little Realization

Nidal's POV-

I just woke up. Yesterday was crazy. I'm like really tired, what time is it?

7:00 am

That's too early for me, I stretched my legs out, and then my arms when I felt something, and then everything after spin the bottle came back to me.

Flashback

    After all the activity's, me and Salish were just talking about our move from Texas to California when we got really tired, it was around 2 in the morning and we were talking in my room on my comfortable bed.

     Salish ended up falling asleep, and I didn't want to wake her up because she looked really peaceful and we had a long day so I just went to bed too.

End of flashback

     Oh, so that's why.

     This is a kind of awkward situation to be in with  your best friend, or atleast that's what I think. I'm just going to go take a shower, and wait until she wakes up.

Salish's POV-

     When I woke up I was in Nidal's room, I could tell because it had all his decor and stuff, including that picture collage that I gave him when we were younger.

     I remember when we were younger and we were so close to being more than just friends but decided that it'd be better not to, especially since we lived so far, and were so young. But that's over now, so whatever.

     Around 5 minutes later I was scrolling on TikTok when Nidal's bathroom door opened and I saw him walk out in only a towel around the lower part of his body.

     "Ohhh," I said while closing my eyes, "I'm sorry, I just woke up I didn't know you were getting out of the shower,"

     "No I should've remembered you were in here, it's completely my fault," he said. Then I heard the bathroom door click and uncovered my eyes. I decided that I should just go downstairs and eat breakfast.

Nidal's POV-

     That was stupid why did I do that she's going to think that I'm embarrassing or something oh my gosh.

     I'll just go back out there when I'm ready and tell her sorry again. Or should I maybe she already forgot, no she definitely didn't. Well maybe she actually did. Why am I losing it over this little slip up?

     Whatever I'm overreacting.

     5 minutes later

     Okay I'm going to open this door and act like nothing happened.

     When I opened the door Salish was gone, my bed was made very neatly though. I guess the only good thing out of this situation was a made bed.

     Im going to go downstairs and have breakfast, maybe thats why I'm being weird I haven't had food.

     I went downstairs and saw Jiji and Salish talking, Salish looks so pretty when the sun glistens down on her through the window. I shoved that thought aside, because we're friends just friends.

     I sat down next to Salish still acting totally normal.
Well I think so atleast. Maybe. I'll just make conversation.

     "Yesterday was fun Jehan," I said.

     That was good I brought attention to yesterday, which makes everything that happens today forgotten.

     "Yea it was," Salish told her, dang I don't know what she saw in that Micheal guy she's so much better than him, looks and personality.

     "Did you hear me Nidal or are you too busy staring at Salish?" I heard Jiji say, I immediately snapped back to reality.

     "I wasn't staring at Salish, and what do you want?" I asked.

     "If you weren't staring at Salish you would know," she said.

     Does this girl always have to be so difficult, I zoned out on Salish that's literally it.

     I stormed out. I do that a lot I guess.

Salish's POV-

     I'm going to admit it did look like Nidal was staring at me, he probably zoned out.

     "Bro he definitely likes you, I don't know why he doesn't just tell you," she said.

     "I don't know, I don't think he does Jiji," I told her.

      "Okay then, so remind me who's bed were you in when you woke up this morning?" She said.

     "Well that's besides the point, we were tired last night and ended up falling asleep," I said.

      "Yeah and he didn't wake you up because he likes you," she said.

      "Okay then, if you say so, when you get him to say so then I might believe that, but for now we're just friends," I said.

Nidal's POV-

     I don't know why I'm feeling all the things toward Salish lately, I'm looking at the ceiling and just thinking about her, and it won't stop.

     I've felt this before for her when we were younger and I think this might be the dumbest thing ever, but it might be a crush.

     A crush.
