Tommy

We hadn't been discussing much while Tori and Amy were gone. I guess just two guys bullshitting about our women.

Tori looked even worse when she came back, but she smiled her sweet little smile and patted my hand, reassuringly.

"Are you all right?" I whispered to her.

"I don't know yet," she shrugged, "What's the plan?"

"The usual," Calvin explained, "We're gonna get some of our guys to keep you safe, checked and completely off radar. You'll make some drops with us and we'll pretend to buy some girls from you. Fake, of course. This is going to try to throw Hector off."

"Get in his good graces again, Tommy, " Calvin said, "Be that pimp again. Tori's already proven to him that she hates that you've lost out on all that money.. "

"If you have stuff on us, what if Hector does?"

"I'm sure he thinks he does," Tori said, "But by the time we're done, it won't matter. "

"What's in it for us?" I asked.

"Deals will be made."

Tori

I had to get out of there.

My panic button was going off, but I didn't want to make a scene.

The FBI was going to act quickly, setting us up the next day. Advanced technology had my phone wired and I hated that, but it was better than wearing a physical accessory.

Amy and Calvin made sure to vett the folks keeping an eye on us and seemed satisfied. Glenn had done a good job rounding up those guys.

"So your dad thinks Bridget knows something more about my mom's death?"

Tommy nodded as we drove home, a slick FBI escort driving way ahead of us.

"That's probably why she called you Kendra. It was about the time the ring was developing. My father wanted nothing to do with it, but we were poor as fuck and they were about to get us taken away."

"So, he thinks the guy he killed was out to kill him and your mom was in on it?"

Tommy frowned.

"Seems that way. He's got Calvin's people checking into old evidence."

"Your mom said he,-"

"Yeah my mom fucking lied-as usual. I'm sure she hated my father for his cheating, but even more so when he tried to leave the syndicate and all that lucrative portion of the business. "

Lucrative. A nice word that Ray used after being up my ass about what I did and didn't know.

"Are you feeling better?"

"Huh? Oh, sure... "I lied.

"I'm not interested in doing this, but if it gets us a plea deal and brings Hector to his knees, call me a rat all damn day!" Tommy winced as he shifted his shoulder.

"We'll take a look at it when we get home," I told him, suddenly feeling awfully frisky, "You ready for graduation?"

"I'm ready to get this over with, make you my wife and fill your belly with my babies.. " Tommy said, placing his hand on my thigh.

"Might be sooner than later on that last one," I mumbled.

"What do you say, baby?"

"It's nothing. I'm just starving—for food and you.. "

"Well, do we eat or fuck first?"

"Do you know how many people are probably watching?"

"Right here in the car?" Tommy looked around, "I'm happy to oblige, baby. "
