She tiptoes slowly and twirled around making her feathery dress spread like a lovely flower in full bloom.

A radiant smile spread through her pink lips, and the rosy cheeks reached to her sparkling eyes.

Yes, they were truly sparkling against the thousand of lights above the ceiling. She was like those intricate chandeliers, being marveled highly beyond normal reach.

Clap clap clap

Ah they enthusiastically applaud to the dancing pair, both work of art.
The man was brilliant and charming to the bones. A face that conjures appreciation and peerless talents well-known across the land.
The every girl's dream prince.
The eye-catching shade of his hair– like melted gold, the colour of his eyes– like the sparkling ocean sparkling with depth. His small smile made from his plump lips is a sight to see.

The man was the Duke of Azuria .

The lady he was dancing with is the famous flower everyone literally revere as a goddess.

The royal princess of the Jade kingdom.

The pair of beauty was like a feast in the eyes. As if the couple that came out of the majestic painting. Both looked so ethereal as if they were perfectly made for each other like soulmates.

If only they were wise to be.

I heaved a sigh and crossed my leg as I sip my drink. The burning taste of alcohol immediately seeped into my core.
If you're in question if I might be heartbroken or something, then you're not entirely wrong.

"Miss Jane, I advise you not to drink any more than you'd have." I raised my eyebrow towards the gentleman whose look is matured but pretty lean.

He served as the royal butler in the kingdom and everybody knows he's the perfect man out there. Yet no one seemed to question his status of never getting married despite being in his early 30s.

Some said he married his job.
Some said he's a misogynist, except for the princess he's been serving all his life.
While some said he loyally loved someone he cannot be with.

Now, who knows the truth?

I chuckled like a mad woman and leaned into him.
"Don't mind it, Maximus. Should I help you with your lovely princess?"
I sensed him getting tensed like a rock.

"We both know what we want, so let's help each other okay?" Before I could take any more move, I was stopped by someone's hand on my waist.

I glared at the person. It's him. The despicable person I've ever known.

"You're drunk. Let me escort you back into your room."
His sweet voice caressed the air, and I heard some mutterings. Some eyes are now directed at us as if watching an amusing show.

Me?
In contrast to them, I've pretty received every words of degradation towards me. As if my sole existence is an error, just a comparison for those who will outshine, and stand above others.

Just the daughter of the barron being sold in the young age to serve at the palace, and someday be married off to some old rich aristocrat.
My life is already planned even if it's too pathetic.

My body felt like being carried, and the last thing I saw is the pretty eyes of the princess full of misery and tears.

How can't she be emotional, if the person she fancy was being threatened by her closest friend while ago?
Not exactly, it's just an offer.

"You're really strange, my lady."

I felt the coldness against my bare skin.

"To deliberately trigger me like that.."

His hands, like burning iron ran down as if tracing something to ensure property.

My emerald eyes met those ocean orbs–long gone the serene blue but a raging storm took place.

"Your highness -"

Yes, the man who was revered just awhile ago currently captured me like a prey under his provision.

"Call my name. Jane Baron, say that you'll be mine."

Behind the perfect image of the prince, lies a mad man that looked like in complete infatuation.

My life in this crazy situation is truly a sight to behold.
