But that was the problem.
Obanai didn't want to be just friends.
He wanted to be more than that.

Lovers.
He wanted her.
He had never wanted anything so much.
He reached out towards her hand again.
"W-what are you doing?" She inquired.
He jerked away. "Nothing," he said quickly.
But then she did something that surprised him.
She reached out towards him and took his rough fingers in her delicate ones.
"You have beautiful hands," she commented.
"I don't."
"I think you do," then she looked up at him. Her eyes stared into his. He started breathing heavily. "Are you alright?"
"Y-yes. I am."
"Ok. If you say so. If I can help, just let me know," then she smiled.
Nothing had ever been so beautiful to him.
"Well, I should get going. Inosuke wanted to do something together."
"O-oh, ok," Obanai stumbles over his words.
She got up then looked back. "Unless you wanted to do something?"
He shook his head. "No, of course not."
She looked slightly disappointed. "Oh. Ok. Bye."
She left.
