Marlene could only only groan as she laid on her bed, her back facing the ceiling. Having spent two hours unpacking and figuring out a system for her space, she finally got it in an order that she was content with.

Hearing a knock on the door, the girl sighed. "Go away, I'm dead." She called before putting her face back into her pillow. The person ignored her claim though, the door slowly opening.

"You're dead?" Sitting up, Marlene looked at her sister tiredly.

"I wish I was." She groaned, running a hand through her hair. "Unpacking sucks. And on top of all that, I had to rearrange everything."

"Yeah, I suppose it can take a lot out of a person." Bella chuckled, moving to sit next to her little sister. "Your room is so... yellow."

"Yeah well your color was purple, mine was yellow."

"It suits you." Bella nodded, looking around the room before snorting in laughter. "Very bold."

"Oh ha ha." She laughed dryly, throwing a pillow at her. "At least I don't have a dollhouse in my room still."

Before Bella could say anything back, a loud honk made the two jump. Looking at each other in confusion, the two girls then raced to Bella's window in her room to see who was there.

Outside a faded red truck could be seen pulling into the driveway. Watching as a boy hops out, he went to the bed of the truck to grab a wheelchair before going to the passenger side door.

"Girls! Come down, I want you to meet someone!" Charlie called. Marls sighed and Bella groaned, the two girls grabbing their jackets before heading down the stairs together.

Exiting the house, the girls saw their Father and the teen boy helping an older gentleman into a wheelchair. Once he was in it, the stranger stubbornly shooed the two away, getting himself situated. "Bella, Mars. You remember Billy Black?"

Marlene nodded, only recognizing him from the photos on the mantle, while Bella spoke. "Yeah. Nice to see you."

"I'm glad you two are finally here." He greeted, rolling up to them. "Charlie hasn't shut up about you two coming for weeks."

"Keep exaggerating, I'll roll you down the hill." Charlie said, pointing a finger at him warningly. But Billy just smiled at him, placing his hands n his wheels.

"Right, after I roll you into your ankles!" The man then started rolling towards Charlie, the latter stepping back each time his wheels got closer to him. Marlene and Bella watched the scene, slightly amused, when the teenage boy came up to him.

"Hey I'm Jacob." He introduced, shaking both of their hands. "You used to play with my sisters."

"No, I remember you." Marlene said to him, snapping her fingers. "We used to make mudpies together. To annoy our sisters." Jacob laughed, rubbing the back of his neck bashfully.

"Are they always like this?" Bella asked, nodding her head to the two older men, who were still battling it out.

"It gets worse with old age."

"I heard that." Billy scolded, the two older men coming up to the three.

"So, Bella, what do you think of your homecoming gift?" Charlie asked, patting the side of the truck lightly. Bella furrowed her eyebrows in confusion at first before her expression turned to an excited one.

"No way!" She exclaimed, immediately looking over the truck. "This truck is for me?"

"Just bought it off Billy, here."

"It's perfect!" She beams, quickly climbing inside of it. Jacob joins her while the red-head stands outside Bella's door, peaking her head through the window.

"Maybe I can give you a ride to school too." Bella said to Jacob, a hopeful smile on her face. Marlene smiles hopefully as well, nodding at him. Jacob sighs, shaking his head.

"I go to school on the reservation."

"Too bad." Marls muttered, a bit of disappointment written on her face. "It would've been nice to know someone in my grade."

The weekend flew by quickly for the Swan sisters, Monday coming sooner than they expected.

Marlene sighed from the passenger seat of Bella's truck, hugging her backpack securely. Her earbuds were connected to her iPod, the girl never leaving home without it.

"Are you nervous?" Bella asked, turning into the parking lot of Forks High School.

"Pfft, me? Nervous? Not ever." Marlene played it off, a seemingly calm smile on her face. "Don't worry Bells, I won't forget you when I popular."

"Yeah right, Marls." Bella shot back, giving her a playful glare as she parked the truck. The brunette watched from her seat as people stared at the truck, making the older girl feel small. "Maybe we can go back? Tell Charlie that we both hurled up last night's spaghetti or something."

"C'mon Bella, you just have to have confidence." Marlene mused. "Believe in yourself. Like I do." Opening her door, the red-head quickly jumped out, only to step right in a puddle that soaked through her shoes and made her socks wet. Hearing the snickers of passing student, the girl closed her eyes in annoyance before speaking again. "Ok never mind, this is gonna be terrible."
