Describing characters

It may be surprising, but you don't need to start a work with the description of the MC. Or list down the looks as soon as a character appears. Maybe mention three things and sprinke more into later parts of the work. Don't overwhelm the reader.

Heck, the reader doesn't even need to know every detail of a character. Not only in Fanfiction, but original works as well. There are many professional works that don't give a detailed description of characters, not even the main!

And, of course, Fanfiction. The characters are well known. Unless you write for fandom-blind readers, just point out what is different from the canon character. Add the remaining canon later on in the work. Sprinkle the details around the work, but don't mention the hair or eye color every few paragraphs.
