carlos sighed as he read andrea and his' conversation about her ex-boyfriend. he truly thought they were going to stay together forever, all their family and friends thought so. they were made for each other, it was noticeable through their actions. the way they looked at each other, eyes filled with nothing but love and adoration. their love language being physical touch, you would always see them at reunions attached at the hip, either benito's arm wrapped around her waist or shoulders, or andrea's hands combing through his hair.

benito had came to ask carlos for permission to marry andrea a month before she had broken up with him. carlos had been ecstatic, immediately saying yes. he wouldn't picture andrea with anyone but him.

now, it hurt him to see her deny her evident feelings for benito again and again.

even though the pair had only been together a year and a half, everyone could see they were each other's other half. the yin to the others yang. the sun to his moon.

they had never felt the need to expose their relationship to the public, deeming it as unnecessary attention. and carlos respected that. he had so desperately wanted his sister to be happy for ages, and she had been. until she broke up with him for no reason.

carlos had been there to comfort her throughout it, reassuring her and making her feel better. even though he didn't agree with her decision, he couldn't be mad at her.

he had also reached out to benito, the latter only responding with an i'm ok. carlos knew it wasn't true, the man had to be heartbroken. after all, he wanted to marry her.  but nonetheless, carlos didn't bother him anymore than that.

it was so evident that they both still needed each other, but are too stubborn to admit it.
