I watch as Beth was currently playing and someone walks beside me. I turn to see him. He turns to me. I spoke first
"Y/n Harmon" I said holding my hand out for him to shake
He does " D.L Townes." He said
"I know." I said pull my hand away
He gives me a confused look
"You work for chess review as a photojournalist." I said
"Oh, are you interested in that life? Photojournalist." He asked
"Yes and no it sounds like fun. I would most likely enjoy it as a job but I love music." I said
"Well if you like, you could can away give me a call I always need a new photojournalism as I can't travel as much because of the editing." He said handing me a card as I look down at it
"You got me. I resign." He said as he holds his hand out for Beth to shake
Say a quick goodbye and go over to Beth and give her a hug. We go to the bathroom before leaving.
As we walk out Beth places the paper in the basket
"Dinner break. Next round is at six o'clock. Then, three more tomorrow. Final round is Sunday, 11 a.m." he said as Beth goes up to the board
"Harmon?" Townes said causing Beth to turn around
"Keep it up, kid. And y/n give me a call when you need." He said walking away
As Matt and Mike give me a look and Beth walks towards me and we begin to walk away.
We got on the bus. And head home.
"What was Townes talking about?" Beth asked
I hand her the card
"He told me that if I'm ever looking for a job as a photojournalist for chess review that he will offer it."
"That's good. Might take a few photos of me." Beth said jokingly posing a bit as I pretended to take fake photos with my fake camera
And we laugh
We walk into the house to see mom watching TV and eating dinner
"Yours guys is in the oven." Mom said
I put my bag down as Beth goes into the kitchen
"How did you do at your thing?" Mom asked Beth
"I won four games." Beth said placing her bag on the floor walking into the kitchen as I walk behind her
"That's nice, good for you." She said to Beth
"Hey, i won't be going to the rest of the tournaments. Tomorrow i think I'm gonna start playing the piano." I said grab forks and knives for me and Beth to eat are food
She nods
"But win for us" I said
"I'll try" she said as I give her a smile.

I'm upstairs as I hear the door and go rushing down.
"Hey" I said giving my sister a hug as she watches mom play the piano
"Anything new? Beside winning" I said
"I've started menstruating." She said
"Oh wow." I said as I start a couple of months a ago
"Bit late in the day for you, isn't it?" Mom asked
"I'll need pads...Something."
"Just go up to my room, to the top drawer of my chiffonier, and take what you require." She said as Beth was about to leave to go upstairs
