Rhea and I sat in a dimly lit coffee shop, our voices hushed as we exchanged stories and caught up on the events of our lives. Little did we know that our conversation was about to take an unexpected turn, unraveling a web of deception that would leave us shattered.

Sadie, a mutual friend and colleague of ours, approached our table, her face etched with concern. Her eyes darted nervously between Rhea and me, as if grappling with the weight of the secret she held.

"Rosa, Rhea," Sadie began hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper. "There's something I need to tell you. It's about Neil."

My heart skipped a beat, a sense of unease settling over me. Rhea's brows furrowed, mirroring my own apprehension. Together, we leaned in closer, urging Sadie to continue.

"I've been friends with Neil for a long time," Sadie confessed, her voice laden with regret. "And I've recently discovered that he had ulterior motives when it came to his relationship with Rhea."

Shock washed over us, the weight of Sadie's words sinking deep into our souls. The room seemed to fade into the background as we grappled with the realization that Neil had been using Rhea to mend his own broken heart, all while harboring unresolved feelings for Sara.

"He confided in me," Sadie continued, her voice trembling. "He admitted that he saw Rhea as a means to get over Sara, and that his feelings for her never truly faded. He told if Sara ever came back into his life, he was willing to take her back"

Tears welled up in Rhea's eyes, her gaze distant as she absorbed the painful truth. Anguish washed over me, a sense of protectiveness for my dear friend taking hold.

"How could he do this to her?" I whispered, my voice laced with disbelief and sorrow.

Sadie's gaze met mine, her expression mirroring my pain. "I don't have all the answers, Rosa. But I couldn't stand by and watch Rhea be deceived any longer. She deserves to know the truth."

The weight of the betrayal settled heavily upon us, shattering the trust we had placed in Neil. In that moment, our world felt fractured, the foundations of our friendships crumbling beneath us. Yet, amidst the wreckage, a fierce determination emerged – to protect and uplift Rhea, to help her heal from the wounds inflicted by Neil's deceit.

As we left the coffee shop that day, our steps heavy with the weight of the truth we now carried, I knew that the path ahead would be filled with heartache and difficult decisions. But Rhea had the strength of a warrior within her, and together, we would navigate the storm, supporting her as she picked up the pieces of her shattered heart.

In the face of betrayal, our bond grew stronger, for we realized that true friendship endures even in the darkest of times. And as we vowed to stand by Rhea's side, our collective hearts braced for the challenges that lay ahead, determined to bring her comfort and light amidst the shadows.
