"So... He...broke this...?" (Y/n) asked, glancing towards Peter's sleeping figure behind them. "Yeah, but he's a little embarrassed about it so it's just between you and me." Miles told her, smiling cheekily. The two giggled and for a moment they both stopped and just stared at each other, as if they were fascinated by each other. Slowly, they both, unconsciously, started to lean in, getting closer and closer about to break the gap between their li-

"Uh... Guys...?" A sudden voice was heard, making the two jump and quickly move away from each other.

"Oh-- did I interrupt something--? Sorry about that." Gwen said, now turning her attention towards her phone. (Y/n) felt her cheeks heat up, she quickly checked herself on her phone's camera to find her cheeks a bright shade of pink. 'What..?' She was quick to calm herself down and return back to normal, a skill she had adapted over the years. She is fond of putting on a poker face almost every time, but, for some unknown reason, ever since she met Miles, all that changed. She started opening up more, especially around him. But is the reason behind it really unknown...? Or is she just denying it?

(Y/n) shook her head, dismissing her thoughts. As she slumped back in her seat, relaxing herself, right beside her was Miles. Unlike (Y/n), Miles was terrible when it comes to controlling overwhelming emotions. He was in a daze staring out of the window as the event that had happened a few minutes earlier kept replaying in his mind on repeat, and he knows why.

If there was anything that Miles has ever and only defeated (Y/n) in, it was accepting emotions. He knew well and good that he saw his new companion as more than friends, and he has never seen her in any way apart from it. There's just one problem...

He stole a quick glance from her, 'She's normal. She's fine. She's completely calm as if THAT did not just happen. How the--?!!'

He's getting mixed signals. He has seen the multiple signs she keeps throwing at him. The way she looks at him, her eyes soften in some way that reminds him of the calm currents of the sea. Those eyes stare at him as if to say 'I love you'. Yet, at the same time, there are those moments she just stares at him blankly, as if she just witnessed him kicking a puppy for no reason at all. There are times he thought he did something wrong and tried to apologize to her, only for her to ask why.

But other than just her eyes, she shows one sign. One clear and simple sign that indicates that the boy infront of her was special in every way possible to her. Her smile.

If there was anything that literally anyone knew about her, it was that she never smiles. She is forever seen with a frown on her face wherever she went with whoever. But the moment she first smiled at Miles, it was crystal clear that she saw something in him that only she can understand. Yet, there are multiple events, like today, that the smile she has disappears in an instant. At this point, Miles was completely at sea.

Should he try and...?

No, that's crazy!

..But then again....

"I have a place we can fix this up." (Y/n) suddenly said, holding the goober in her hands. "Huh? Oh--yeah! Yeah..." Miles replied.

The two were quiet once more, except this time, it was more awkward than usual, and this didn't go unnoticed by the blonde.

"Are you guys okay?" Gwen asked. "Always. Why?" (Y/n) asked. Gwen glanced at the boy next to the (H/c) girl, sending a clear sign to ask if there was something going on. (Y/n) sighed before saying, "Really Gwen..? Besides, shouldn't I be the one to ask you if you're okay?" Gwen cocked her brow in confusion. "I'm sorry, about your friend." (Y/n) told her. "Yeah sorry about that." They suddenly heard a voice beside (Y/n).

"Thanks." Gwen told the two teens. "And-- and also, I'm willing to be part of your little friend group. Unless--! It's a girl group! Cause-- ya know--?" Miles told the two making them laugh. "I'll... Keep you posted." Gwen reassured him.

They all smiled at each other before changing the topic to other things that caught their interest. Behind the chatting teens, was Peter, smiling at himself feeling proud of the three at their fast progress of becoming comfortable around each other. He closed his eyes and soon he was in deep slumber, nothing pressuring was bound to happen for the rest of the day.

"We should probably go." Peter told the teens. The four, were now standing infront of a, now, well known resident, 'Parker's'.

"Peter we're literally at the doorstep!" Gwen told the anxious man. Peter signed and shot a web at the doorbell. They stood there for a few seconds before Peter suddenly, "Bad idea, this was a bad idea..." He said walking away, only to be pulled back by (Y/n) using her web. "Just relax. You'll do just fine."

"You guys are all very sweet, but, no more fans today... Please.." said a tired voice. As the front door was cracked open, the old woman from the other side peaked through, scanning the area before her eyes landed on Peter.

"I'm not ready for this...." Peter muttered. The older woman now fully opened the door, dropping her bat. "Peter..?" She asked. "Hey, May..." Peter said softly.

May slowly approached him and placed her hands on his face, as if to confirm if she was imagining things. Peter heaved out a sigh before saying, "This is going to sound crazy but... I'm from--" "--an alternate dimension." May completed his statement.

"Yes, actually. How did you know?" Peter asked. May then turned and faced (Y/n), making the rest stare at her. "She was the first person to come to Peter and I to ask for help, before he..." May stopped mid sentence, staring on the ground.

She looked up once again staring at Peter with pity eyes. "You look tired." She told him. "Well, I am." Peter told her truthfully. "And older. And thicker." "Yeah, I've heard that already." Peter said, slightly annoyed.

"I was there when it happened. I'm so sorry." Miles told May as he approached her. "And which dimension are you from?" May asked. "Brooklyn. Hey... Do you have anywhere to make one of these?" Miles asked, holding out the damaged goober.

May took it, inspecting it, before looking back up with a smirk. She looked at (Y/n) and nodded, making her smile as well. May finally turned to the rest, "Follow us."
