Chapter 4

It felt like an eternity before I landed on the ground for the third time in this short period of time, barely leaving me bruised.

"Christ, can't I land on something soft for once." I groaned as I sat up, being met with judgmental stares from people who walked by despite not having done anything yet.

One thing was obvious, and it was the fact that it was hot and humid wherever I might be. The ground was dirty and it reeked of something, but I couldn't put a finger on it.

I quickly got on my feet and took a few steps further, being met with a big crowd of people and some homeless person playing jazz on the side of the street. It was quite a cool place, and if I had to be honest- it had a vibe.

But even still, I had no idea where I was.

The only way to know is to ask, right?

So, the first thing I did was tap on a girl's shoulder who happened to be standing in front of me, "Excuse me?" I asked, but as soon as she turned to look at me, she walked away.

The people aren't all too friendly here..

With a sigh did I head to the jazz player, seeing as how he was already looking my way.

"Hello," He looked up at me from his chair as I stood in front of him, his face embraced by at least 5 scars. But that didn't hide the kindness he had in his eyes, "I assume that you are unfamiliar with this place, young lady?"

It was an old man, but with youth coating everything on him. From his eyes, to his speaking and even the way he had dressed himself.

"Yeah, I can't figure out what this place is."

Distress was one thing I hated, and it was exactly what I was feeling at this moment. Being in a crowd like this was too much when there was no one you knew and no one to help you out.

The man let out a low chuckle and smiled at me, "It's actually quite easy to figure out where you are." He spoke as he pointed behind me.

And so I turned around, looking there where he pointed at.

There was a gate and written on it was 'HELL'.

Well, I guess that was to be expected.

"Oh." I murmured and felt an unsettling feeling in my stomach, finally coming face to face with something I have feared- the fact that I'll never get to see Mina again.

This was honestly a worse type of torture than anything, even worse than being on earth and awaiting your death. Because on earth you still have the chance to go to those who you love the most, but being sentenced to Hell..

There was no way back, no second chances, no matter how well you act.

"Yep, you're in Hell. So, do what you want, no one cares. I wish you a nice evening." He said at last and it didn't take long before he was continuing his music, being tipped with money.

Knowing what I knew now, I just proceeded there where most people went.

The whole place looked like some mall in the middle of the city, it could almost be compared to Seoul, but only was the hygiene of this place non-existent.

The street lights had a red hue, and still into every alley you looked there were shadows that held secrets no one knew. From what I expected, the streets were probably covered with blood from those who were stabbed with no struggle from anyone- because there were no rules.

It was Hell, after all.

Not knowing what to do, I just wandered the street I was walking. Feeling like a complete outcast in a place where we all were equal to each other.
