It has been a month since Bella almost got run over by a car. Things have been crazy lately. The near accident finally pushed her and Edward together. She finally found out about Edward and the Cullens, my former powers, and what exactly happened to me last year. She took it pretty well, better than I did.

Lyv and I were working on a project for my econ class, when Bella comes downstairs looking quite nervous.

"Hey, Dad." She says to our dad.

"What's up, Bella?"

"Edward is going to be coming by to pick me up." That piqued my interest. I stopped what I was doing and continued to listen to the conversation. "Please be nice." Ha, that's funny.

"I am always nice." That earned a snort from me, both of them turning and looking at me. Suddenly, someone knocks on the door. Show time. Bella opens the door and lets Edward in. He gives me a slight head nod and a smile.

"Hello, Mr. Swan." Edward reaches to give my father a handshake, which he accepts.

"Hello, Edward. Where are you and Bella off to this evening?"

"I am taking Bella to play baseball with my family."

My dad turns and looks at me. "Netta, why aren't you going?"

"You're kidding, right? Can you even imagine me playing baseball?" I ask him, laughing.

"You're right." He says, letting out a small chuckle.

"I told Jasper I am sitting this one out because I have some school stuff to catch up on, and to be honest, I just don't want to sit through a long-ass baseball game. No offense, Edward." I say to him. He smiles back.

"None taken at all." He responds, laughing slightly.

"Well, okay. Good job convincing Bella to play baseball. Never thought I would see the day." Dad says. Bella gives him a playful eye roll.

"And that is our cue to leave." She says, not wanting any further embarrassment. They finally leave, and Lyv and I get back to our schoolwork. She found the whole encounter hilarious. We can hear a storm brewing. I hope they all stay safe during their game.

I have watched them play baseball one time. It was very interesting. Of course, they can only play during a storm cause when they hit the baseball, the cracking sound is as loud as thunder. She better not get hit by a baseball, or I will fight them all.

"Can we pleaseeeee be done?" Lyv asks.

"Yes, we can. I am over this project for tonight." I give her a look. "Trashy reality show and pizza?"

"Duh! I'll pick the show. You order the pizza."

Two hours later, we have eaten half the pizza and are a few episodes into our new favorite show. Suddenly, I hear a car door slam and someone stomping up the front stairs. Oh, this will be interesting.

The door opens, and Bella is screaming at Edward. "Edward, I said leave me alone." Holy shit.

"Bella, don't do this." He says, half pleading. What the fuck is going on?

I stand up and run over to the front door just as Bella is saying, "It's over. Get out." And slams the door in his face. She runs upstairs, and I run right after her. I yell at Lyv to stay downstairs. She tries to slam her door closed, but I intercept and come in, closing the door behind her.

"Bella, what is going on? Are you okay?" Dad asks from outside the door.

I crack open the door and poke my head out. "I'll try to see what is going on. Give us a few minutes." He nods and heads downstairs. I close the door and turn around and see three things. Bella is packing, Edward is helping her, and Jasper is coming through the window.

"Okay, what the actual hell is going on?" I ask. Jasper runs over to me and hugs me.

"Someone is coming after Bella." He says, tightening his grip on me.

"What?!"

"Some rogue vampires stopped by during our baseball game and saw we had a human with us, and one of them lost their shit." Oh my god. "And now he made it his mission to hunt her down and kill her."

I turn and look at Edward. "You said you were going to keep her safe, asshole. What the actual hell?" I look at Bella, who is still packing. "Why are you packing?"

"We have to get her out of town," Edward replies, eyes fixated on Bella.

"Oh, my god. Where are you going to go?"

"Back home to Arizona," Bella says. Holy shit. "And you're coming with us."

"No way in hell am I going to go all the way to Arizona to outrun a psycho vampire." Jasper gives me a look.

"You have to, baby. This is serious shit, and I need to keep you safe."

"No."

"Netta—"

"I said no. This is my home. Arizona is no longer my home. I am not leaving my dad behind to go on this insane road trip. I can protect myself, and I have Anna."

"No. You are coming with us." Jasper starts to say.

"We don't have time to argue right now," Edward says. "Bella, go downstairs and get in your car and start driving. I will be right there." She runs downstairs and tries to leave. I can hear her and Dad having a conversation, him trying to convince her to stay.

"Edward, I have to stay. Please."

"Rosalie and Esme will be staying behind. I will have them come by to watch over you and your dad." He turns to Jasper. "You stay here until they get here. Call Anna and have her put her barrier spell back up again." Then he leaves. Runs out the window.

"Baby, please. Come with us. I can keep you safe." Jasper pleads with me.

"I can't. I need to stay home. Anna's barrier will keep me safe. Please keep Bella safe."

I call Anna and tell her I need the barrier up now and that I would explain it later. She does so, just as Jasper hears Esme and Rosalie arrive.

"I love you, baby. Please stay inside this house until it is safe to leave." He says, giving up on convincing me to leave with him.

"I will. Please call me when you get to Arizona."

"I will. I love you with all my heart. You are my world, and I will come back to you, however long it takes." He grabs me and kisses me hard. He pulls away and smiles at me, brushing a piece of hair out of my face. He kisses my forehead, and then he is gone.

Please be safe. I plead in my head. I have a feeling that something is going to happen, and it won't be good.
