Waking up was a little harder than usual. Probably due to the cold medicine I took last night. I get ready in a rush, wanting to get to school early to do some extra studying for my calculus quiz today. I'm not that hungry, so I grab a protein bar and an apple and get in the car. When I get to school, I go to the library and start studying. I swear integrals are going to kill me.

"Quiz today?" A voice asks. I already know who it is. That beautiful Southern accent can only be one person.

"Yes." I look up from my notes and smile at him. "Good morning, Jasper."

"What class?"

"Calculus." I move my eyes back to my notes.

"Ah. Okay." He looks pretty nervous.

"You okay?" I ask him, eyes still focused on my notes. If I look at his beautiful eyes for too long, I may lose concentration. I need to ace this quiz.

"Yeah. I just had something I wanted to ask you." He says, nerves present in his voice.

I look up at him. "And what would that be?" I ask, smiling, trying to ease his mysterious nerves.

"Would you... like to go out on a date with me this weekend?" I could feel my jaw wanting to drop. I could feel my heart rate increasing. As if he noticed, he shifted uncomfortably. "If you don't want to, I totally get it." Aw, how cute. He seems so nervous.

"I... would love to go out with you, Jasper." I give him the biggest smile, which he returns full force.

"Great. I thought we could see a movie? And grab ice cream after?" He talks as if this may be his first date, ensuring he says the right thing.

"Sounds great. What movie do you want to go see?"

"There is a movie theater in Port Angeles showing a bunch of old movies by the director Alfred Hitchcock." He pauses and looks at me. "We could go see a recent movie rather than a bunch of old ones if you'd like."

"Alfred Hitchcock is like my favorite old movie director. Which one would you like to see?"

"My favorite of his is Rear Window. But if you want to see a different movie of his, we can. It's all up to you." He gives me a soft smile.

"I would love to see Rear Window with you, Jasper. But on one condition."

"Yes?"

"Can we get gummy bears to eat during the movie?" Gummy bears are my favorite candy to eat during a movie.

"Of course." We pause for a second, holding eye contact. It feels so natural to stare into his eyes, as creepy as that sounds. "So Rear Window will be shown at seven on Saturday night. Is that okay?"

"Totally." I go back to looking over my notes as he pulls out his notes to study for what I am assuming is a quiz.

I am at a loss for words. I can't believe he asked me out. I never would've thought that him, a god-like man, wanting to go out on a date with me. I can't stop smiling. Luckily, before we can say anything else to each other, the bell rings for first period.

We walk side by side to class, neither one of us talking. We both seemed content with that. Of course, I still can't stop smiling. Lyvia will know something is up the second I walk into that room.

I see her sitting in her seat, practically bouncing up and down. Guess she has news too. I sit down and pull out my phone, signaling to her that I'd rather have the conversation over text rather than out loud with everyone to hear.

Alice asked me out!!!! She texted me before I could even type a word.

OMG, that's amazing!!

We are going to dinner and a movie on Friday. I'm so excited.

I'm so happy for you! I have some good news too.

What?!?

Guess who asked me out.

SHUT THE FUCK UP. No way!!!

I didn't say who.

I already know. Your smile told me everything I needed to know. We both look at each other, smiles beaming on our faces.

I'm so nervous.

Don't be. You are amazing. He will probably fall in love with you after just one date because you are that awesome.

Aw, thank you, Lyv. I bet Alice will probably do the same because you are even more awesome.

Oh, hush. Thank you. We should pay attention, or Mrs. Smith may lose her mind. Ha ha.

We put our phones away and try to concentrate, but it is aware neither of us can't. Throughout class, I can feel his eyes on me, but I try not to turn around and look at him. Class finally ends, and I walk out, him leaving after me.

As I walk to my next class, he calls out, "See you later, Netta."

"Bye," is all I can muster up as he walks away, a smirk on his face.
