Chapter 3: Inconvenient store

"People in Seoul are advised to evacuate immediately! As we speak, many reports of a new virus have been spreading across the city! The virus causes people to lose themselves and attack other people eating them like cannibals, so if there's still anyone there... evacuate"

Taehyun raised his phone slightly as he looked for some signal while Yeonjun continued driving "So what we're in a zombie apocalypse?" Beomgyu spoke with disbelief referring to what they heard on the radio, Y/n sighed as she leaned back looking over to Soobin who quietly dialed his parents on his phone "So it all started in Daegu... with the man that bit a person..." Taehyun breathlessly said, Beomgyu's head snapped in his direction "What do you... Daegu?..." He stuttered as his hand shook while grabbing his phone from his pocket, Taehyun only stayed silent

Yeonjun painfully looked over the rearview and saw Beomgyu type and dial on his phone quietly, eyes glued on the device watching the 'ringing' turn to 'did not answer'

Hueningkai looked out the window, he felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked at the quiet city

Cars crashed, roads wet, some buildings and cars caught on fire

It was scary how fast the city turned into ruins... a few hours ago they were just driving and walking over this street so they could meet in hopes of having fun...

And now here they are...

They all immediately turned to Yeonjun when he stopped the car "We have to walk..." he hesitantly informed, the others turns to look ahead and saw that crashed cars blocked their way

"No way in hell I'm going out" Beomgyu disagreed

Beomgyu followed behind Yeonjun as they cautiously walked out in the streets nothing in hand, Their plan?

A convenient store

Y/n covered her mouth and her nose as she watched the lifeless bodies of people that are left laying on the sidewalks, some laying in their cars and some had their guts sprawled on the ground

Soobin turns his head and saw a car window open, Hueningkai watches him turn and tip-toe towards the car "Hyung!" The youngest whisper shouts, Taehyun turns to look at the noises behind him and saw Soobin going through the car

*Creak*

The group entered the convenient store

"Alright baby free food" Beomgyu whispers before running to the food aisle, Yeonjun only looks around while walking to the drinks aisle, Hueningkai only sighs before sitting on the ground and leaning on the counter while Y/n scrolled on her phone looking for updates, Taehyun walked over the Slurpee area before grabbing the largest cup

"want one?" Beomgyu asks as he held out a bag of chips to Soobin "No thanks I don't want to get the urge to use the bathroom while in an apocalypse" Soobin replies "What? If you don't think about it you won't feel it, man" Beomgyu speaks urging his friend to eat "Do you not know a stress poo?" Soobin replies declining once again "The hell is that?"

"When you're too stressed you want to poo"

"So you're telling me you don't want to eat 'cause you might get the urge to poo while running away from zombies?"

Soobin nods

"What the actual-"

"all of you come here"

Yeonjun leaned on the shelf with one arm while his other held his drink, Y/n sat next to his figure while she ate a Snickers bar, Hueningkai sat between Y/n and Beomgyu, Soobin was also seated on the ground

Taehyun sat across the group, his large Slurpee drink right beside him "I was able to connect to the military radio earlier with the help of a random two-way radio Kai found on the counter" Taehyun starts pointing to the counter

"I heard reports that they're sending a military helicopter just above the tallest mall here in Seoul" Taehyun explains earning glints of hope in their eyes "When?" Yeonjun immediately asks as he hands his drink over to the girl who took a sip "Tomorrow night, we'll have enough time if we move now" Taehyun replies "The tallest mall is about 2-3 hours away from us if we find an available car much better but if we only walk it'll take time" He adds "we all know we won't be there in 2-3 hours anyway since there's still some shitty cannibals outside" Taehyun mumbles

*Slam*

The group suddenly flinched at the loud slam at the glass door, A lifeless person banged on the glass door trying to get to them as it screeched, They slowly look down at the handle and saw it barricaded "Who did that?" Taehyun whispers

"I used the metal rod I saw in the car..." Soobin replies as they back away from the door

"You just saved humanity, god should hire you" Taehyun compliments

*Slam*

"Yeah uh I don't want to pressure you all but the glass is-" Hueningkai couldn't finish when

*Crack*

"Breaking..." The youngest finished his sentence

"Yeah thank god for that info captain obvious I didn't see that one coming!" Yeonjun shouted before turning around to look another way, Y/n then grips Taehyun's sleeves before pointing to a door at the far back

*Crack*

"There!" Taehyun shouts before running, the others following behind

*Crash*

*Screech*

Y/n shrieked in fear as she heard the glass door break

"AAAAH IT'S NEAR IT SMELLS DISGUSTING I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Hueningkai shouted a cry as he ran, Yeonjun and Beomgyu immediately turned to let Taehyun, Y/n, and Soobin pass. The duo let Hueningkai run past them before they grabbed the shelf full of wine bottles and dragged it down making it fall at the people running towards them

*Slam*

"WHAT IS IT WITH US AND LOCKED DOORS!" Soobin shouted in frustration as he slammed himself against the locked door trying to break it open while Taehyun turned the knob in sheer panic

"AUUGH" Beomgyu groaned in disgust as he stabbed a broken bottle into a person's right cheek, breaking its jaw and making it hang open

*Mumble*

Taehyun froze for a moment before pushing Soobin aside "Hello?!" He shouts pressing his ears against the door, ignoring the sounds of crashing and glass breaking and shouts of fear "We're not infected! We're not bitten please!" He shouts

No answer

"What are you doing?!" Soobin panics

"Let us in please!" Taehyun continues

No answer

Taehyun looks up and looks at the situation

Soobin stared at him, pure fear in his eyes. Yeonjun breathed heavily as he dragged more shelves down slowing the people down as it crushed them and some tripped them. Beomgyu was shouting curses as he picked up bottles before slamming them across a person's face that tried to run past him and Yeonjun. Hueningkai held Y/n tightly as the two squished behind Soobin in fear.

He looked at the blood splashes that ruined Beomgyu's white shirt, The blood that splashed on his neck while Yeonjun has splashed on his cheek and shoulder

All these efforts...

They can't die here...

"OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR BEFORE I BREAK IT AND KILL ALL OF US!"
