After Han's funeral, Dom saw Shaw. He chased after him and ended up losing him because a man called Mr. Nobody showed up with several armed men. He told Dom that he had a way that he could find Shaw. Of course, Dom agreed and Mr. Nobody took him to his base. Shortly after Dom's arrival, the rest of the team was called and showed up at the warehouse.
"Our intelligence suggests that Ramsey will be transported by an iron motor cage on the Caucasus mountain range. If they reach their destination, Ramsey is as good as gone." Mr. Nobody explained to everyone as they walked.
Ramsey is a hacker and she's valuable to Mr. Nobdoy. She created a program called God's Eye that can find anyone in the world. Mr. Nobody had told Dom that if they get him Ramsey and the program, Dom will have federal permission to use the God's Eye to find and take down Shaw. That was an offer Dom wasn't going to refuse.
"So lemme get this straight, there's only one road that leads in or out, with sheer drops on every side. A motor-cage from Hell protected by a small army in one mile in either direction?" Roman questioned as they gathered around a small rectangular table that had a computer screen as the surface of it. Ramsey was kidnapped and this was practically a rescue mission.
"Yeah," Mr. Nobody shrugged as if it was nothing, then continued, "That's about it." Roman shot him a look.
"You done?" One of the soldiers that had been following the group around asked.
"No, I'm not done." Roman snapped at the soldier, then turned his direction towards the team. "So you all wanted me to break into a police station, fine. But then you asked me to stop a tank, I wasn't happy about it, but I did it. Then you came up with this brilliant idea to shoot down one of the largest airplanes ever. I shot that shit out the sky, mm, it's nothin'! But this right here my friend, happens to be the stupidest idea I have ever heard in my life."
"I forgot that you were the only one to bring the plane down." Tej teased, looking up from his phone, which he had been playing games on. Alex smirked, refraining from laughing at Roman. She had missed being around those two.
"Nah, nah, the only thing I've ever seen him take down was uh, 'No Knees' Denise. Remember, at Prom?" Brian asked, smiling as he teased his friend. Alex couldn't help but laugh at that. Roman gave her a look and she coughed, covering up her laugh.
"Really, Brian? You gon' do that right here?" Roman questioned. Brian gave Tej a look, nodding as he raised his eyebrows. Alex playfully hit him on the arm. The three of them began laughing as Roman started talking again. "You tryna get me off my point! All I'm sayin' is, I'm tired of everybody around me makin' all the decisions. This time, I lead. Seriously, if I don't start makin' decisions, I'm out."
"Alright, Roman, what do you got?" Dom asked, placing his hands on the table in front of him, leaning forward a bit.
"I mean I wasn't.. trying to get into the whole leadership thing like now, you know what I'm sayin'? I'm just kind of like.. talkin' like at some point. Like you know when we- whatever. I think.." Roman stuttered. Alex rolled her eyes, a smile forming on her lips. "Let's hit it from here." He clicked on the screen on the table, showing a picture of the road Ramsey would be on.
"I don't think that that's-"
"No no no, don't think." Roman cut off the soldier in a sassy tone. "That's my job."
"Okay. It is impossible to hit it there. That is literally the most secure spot on the mountain. Why? 'Cause you can not physically access it." The soldier explained, using the same tone that Roman had just used with him.
"You see that's what makes it so sweet because it's the place they least expect us to hit 'em from!" Roman exclaimed.
"As much as I hate to admit it, he's onto somethin' there." Brian agreed. I nodded, glancing up at him.
"What do you think, Dom?" Alex asked, folding her arms over her chest as she looked over at her brother. Dom looked at his younger sister a moment before looking down at the screen in front of him.
"Here?" Dom asked, pointing at the spot Roman had only moments ago. Roman nodded at Dom. "I think we got a plan." Dom began to smile.
"Completely wrong thinking.. And I like it!" Mr. Nobody said, smiling as he pointed at the team.
"See, I'm good at this." Roman said in a cocky tone, staring directly at the soldier on the opposite side of the table.
"Good? Okay," The soldier said in an unconvinced tone. "How do you plan on getting on that road?"
"Well.." Roman trailed off, unable to think of a plan. "Tej!" Everyone looked over at Tej for an answer. He looked like he was thinking hard about something.
"I think I may actually have a plan for that." Tej replied, slowly looking up at everyone. Alex raised an eyebrow, curious as to what this plan would be.
"What? I delegated him. That's what good leaders do. Leader," Roman said the last part in a funny tone, causing Alex to laugh again.
"You know, when I read your files, I was impressed with what you've accomplished with your team. But meeting them now I'm.. I gotta say Dom.. You truly got a gift." Mr. Nobody told Dom. Alex smirked at that. As Mr. Nobody walked away, he spoke, "Consider my.. workshop your new playhouse. I think you'll find our cars extremely appealing. And your team, is now complete." When I saw Brian point towards the way that Mr. Nobody walked, I looked up.
Letty.
They brought Letty here. After the house explosion, Letty told Dom that she was leaving. Dom had told Alex what happened and she felt sympathetic for him. She also knew that Letty had told him a lot more than what he said, but she wasn't going to pry the information out of him. That's his business. Plus, seeing how upset it made him, she didn't want to ask him for details.
Dom turned around to face Letty, who was already looking over at him. He walked over to her and they began to talk.
"I already miss Jack." Alex said quietly to Brian as she watched Dom and Letty talk. She leaned her head against his shoulder. Brian looked down at her and nodded in agreement.
"Me too." Brian said with a small sigh, leaning down to kiss her forehead. Alex smiled. She loves forehead kisses.
"Brian," Dom said loudly, earning the couple's attention. The two watched as Dom and Letty walked over to them. "We're gonna need long travel-suspensions, limited slip differentials in all of them." Dom added, referring to the cars they would need.
Brian nodded at him, taking the information in. Letty walked up to the two with a smile on her face. Alex pulled her into a hug, which Letty gladly returned. They pulled away.
"Hey, how ya doin'?" Brian asked quietly as he, too, pulled her into a hug. She mumbled 'good', but Alex knew her better enough to know that she's lying.
"Tej, I want the demon love-child between that," Dom said to Tej, pausing to point at one o the larger Army Jeeps that had been scrapped, but most of the structure of the car was intact. "And that." He pointed to a black Challenger RT.
"That's a lot of armor." Tej told Dom in an somewhat unconvinced tone. "It's just gon' add more weight, slow you down."
"This time it ain't just about bein' fast," Dom said as he turned around to face everyone. Alex smirked at her brother's words. She looked up at Brian, who shared the same facial expression that she did. They lifted their hands and bumped fists. The couple laughed then went to work.
This plan was going to be awesome, but also terrifying.
