The self-less pomegranate tree

• Chapter 1 : The boy and the tree

Once upon a time in a land far-far away, where magic was a myth and were real only in peoples tales.

There nestled in the midst of a lush sun-drenched orchard stood a majestic pomegranate tree with a towering trunk, its gnarled bark displaying the tales of seasons gone by. Its expansive branches sprawled out like a verdant canopy adorned with and abundant tapestry of ruby-red globes hanging like dazzling jewels against the backdrop of verdant foliage.

She was the only magical & sentient tree in the entire forest. Through her magic the forest was thriving and in a sense she became the guardian of the forest. But sentience has its cost, she had no one to talk to and felt alone and sad. One day she met a little boy, who was from the nearby village.

In seeking the thrills of adventure, the little boy ventured deep onto the forest and came upon the tree. He became enamored by looking at the tree, as sun's shine was falling through the morning dews still on the leaves and the leaves were glittering like emeralds. He took a liking to the tree and she also loved him. Finally, she no longer felt alone.
