Silence can be a welcoming hug,
into a cozy, firelit room,
of gingerbread warmth,
knitted blankets,
a good book,
and a creamy cup of hot cocoa on the side table.Or
An arctic gale,
roughly shoving you
into a façade of crumbling, sharp-faced, stinging stucco,
until you land face-down,
in a left-behind pile of hardened, yellow snow.
