"Alright,Joey. I'm here. Let's see if we can find what you wanted me to see."
These were the starting words of eventual regret from Henry Stein,a former animator at Joey Drew Studios who was invited back after the business fell. Along with him was an unlikely girl,an anthropomorphic hedgehog whom he saved from a cold rainstorm and surprisingly aged much slower than humans,Rosy the Rascal.
"This looks upsetting. Everything's fallen down and...messy." "It really does. Almost unrecognisable even. I'm surprised no one wrecked this place down after it fell."
Henry and Rosy looked around and observed the old posters on the walls, the dripping ink from the ceiling and some corners, the empty and unsettling atmosphere this old studio now had. It makes one wonder how it all came to this.
"Looks like they've knocked out a wall or two after i left. Guess it took a few people to replace me." Henry reminisced. He had spent most of his days working on a small little devil, named Bendy, whom he saw as his son, along with his buddies, the absent-minded but goodhearted Boris the Wolf and the charming musicality that is Alice Angel.
Henry loved his creations and hoped they made many people across the country happy with their adventures on the silver screen. He was quickly pulled from his thoughts when he heard grunts and clinking from pipes and went to the source of these sounds.
"Henry? I think i found what i think Joey wanted to show us!" Rosy called after she tripped over a pipe. Henry walks up to her and notices the pipe. "This pipe was certainly not here before. Are you alright, kid?" "Yup,i'm cool." Rosy manages to get up and notices a balcony which boards up a huge pit with chains hanging from the ceiling.
Next to the hedgehog is a box with two spaces that require batteries. "Do you think we should turn this thing on?" "Maybe, but we better be careful about it."
After the batteries are placed in their rightful spots and the lever is pulled down, the chains raise a huge machine with pipes, gears and an opening. Rosy, being a kid, watches as the machine rises with amuse and curiousity in her eyes. Meanwhile,Henry begins to feel skeptical.
"How do we turn this thing on??" Asks the young hedgehog in excitement as she turns to the animator. "I don't know,Rosy. I've never seen such a thing before." "Oooh, now i wanna look around for clues!" Rosy quickly turns around and proceeds to run. "Wait,Rosy, remember that-"
Clink!
"...Pipe." Henry tries to warn her but is unable to finish his warning. "I'm good!" Rosy exclaims, causing Henry to chuckle at her determination. He follows her soon after to make sure she doesn't trip over anything else.
Not long after, the two find themselves in a hallway with two rooms on each end. Before they can continue,a wooden board falls from the ceiling which startles the young hedgehog. "Great way to remind us how messed up this place." "Yeah.."
Henry looks to his left and sees a live incarnation of Boris the Wolf, strapped to a table with ripped open guts and X-shaped eyes. "Oh my god...Joey,what were you doing?" Henry whispers under his breath. The sight nearly makes him gag,but manages to keep himself together. Rosy notices his discomfort. "Henry? You okay?" "Y-yeah,I'm fine. Let's go that way."
They enter a room with six pedastals, six images and a lever at the end. "I think we need to put something on these things!" "Pedastals,Rosy." "Yeah, those things." Rosy turns back to the hallway, only to scream at a sudden cutout in front of her. "Who put this here? Look,Henry! It's Bendy!" Henry walks up and also gets slightly startled. "Where'd that come from?" "I don't know. I just left the room and it showed up!" "This is getting bizarre. We better turn this machine on quickly." "Okay!"
Even if it's reluctant,Henry decided to join Rosy in turning on the mysterious machine and unknowingly awakening something even more bizarre.
To be continued...
