**********

The world inside my motorhome stilled as my parent's movements ceased beyond their bedroom door. Snores reached me a few minutes later. Dreams had taken them away from their problems but there was only one thing in the world that could calm my mind and take me away from mine. I moved to the window and stared outside, finding Bo immediately. He was staring up at the moon with his hands in the pockets of his jeans. His shoulders were turned forward. The expression on his face was so sad it was heartbreaking and though he didn't seem to notice me staring at him, he still called me to join him.

I moved away from the window toward the door and stepped outside, closing the door quietly behind me. He stiffened as I approached but he didn't turn to me. Instead, he stared across the field, squinting as if afraid that danger would move from its depths at any moment.

"You should be inside," he said, his voice soft touching me like a caress. "The Grey Wolves have been near too often for it to be safe."

"Do you really want me to leave?" I asked, frowning as he relaxed.

His lips twitched, and the sadness was gone as he turned his gaze from the forest to me. His eyes slid over me taking in my pajama shorts and shirt, the fire in his eyes leaving heat along each place his gaze touched. He licked his lips causing my heart to bounce in my chest as a flush slid over every inch of my skin.

"You should really wear more clothes," he said, his lips quirking into a crooked grin exposing a dimple. "It's dangerous out here."

I rolled my eyes and laughed as I took a step toward him. "Are the wolves going to eat me?"

"Maybe just one," he said, flashing his teeth and giving a low growl.

"You're naughty," I said, laughing as I moved closer to him.

"You have no idea," he said, wiggling his brows but his voice became deeper sending an electric jolt through me to settle between my legs.

"What would your family say? You're so quiet when you are around them," I said and his smile faded but I continued needing an explanation. "Why is that?"

"Did you notice they don't speak to me unless they have to?" He asked, his face darkening with sadness and anger.

"I did," I said, tilting my head as I stepped close enough to him that I could feel his heat.

"They always assume I'm just this quiet, bookish person," he said with a shrug. "I'm boring. The fact is they don't know me. The only one who did was my mother. The only ones who are left who care to try are Mirella, Garridan, Luca and Claire."

"That's why you're marrying me without argument," I asked as pain settled into my heart. "Because of your mother?"

He stepped so close to me I inhaled. "That's not the only reason...Not anymore," his voice was husky as he stared into my eyes, the pupils dilating. My body shivered with anticipation and fear because this was moving so fast I was dizzy with it. I had never felt so strongly about someone and for it to happen within a day was crazy, wasn't it?
