That night, Kageyama was able to get more sleep, and the next morning he ate a big breakfast. He sat at a table and ate his breakfast while doing his homework. The work really piles up in college, and Kageyama was a decent student, but he wasn't the best.

"Kageyama," Hinata said, peering over his shoulder.

Kageyama jumped, turned around, and glared at Hinata.

"You wanna practice our quick attack now?"

"Sure."

He packed his laptop into his bag and followed Hinata to the volleyball court. He seemed excited to be able to work on the skill. Kageyama followed behind him, walking at a slower pace.

"I'll race you the rest of the way to the gym." Hinata said.

"Your on," Kageyama smirked.

"3, 2, 1," Hinata said.

They both took off, sprinting to the sports campus not too far away. Hinata was running as fast as he could, the wind blowing through his hair. He laughed with joy. Kageyama looked at him, and his thoughts stopped. Hinata looked at him, and they made eye contact. Kageyama's breath hitched in his throat.

Woah, Kageyama thought to himself. He stopped, and Hinata beat him to the gym. He shook his head. He couldn't believe he thought that about a dude, let alone Hinata.

"Ha, I win," Hinata gloated.

"Yeah, whatever," Kageyama said slowly.

He entered the gym behind Hinata, dropped his bag on the sidelines of the court, and slipped off his coat, dropping it next to his bag. He walked over to the equipment closet and took out the basket of volleyballs, and Hinata was already waiting to warm up for practice.

"Come on set already," Hinata snapped at him.

"Don't snap at me, dumbass, Kageyama grumbled. He just couldn't push the thought of Hinata just a moment ago out of his mind.

He couldn't find the words for what he felt for Hinata in that moment, but he knew it was wrong for him to think like a teammate. Then again, he also saw Yamaguchi and Tsukishima yesterday. He shook that thought out of his mind.

Kageyama set the first ball for Hinata. When he jumped up, the bottom of his hip lifted as he raised his arm to spike the ball and fell back to the ground. He stood there stunned before shaking his head and continuing to set for Hinata.

Kageyama and Tsukishima walked back to their dorm together. Kageyama didn't know why he was looking back at Tsukishima, even though they acted pretty hostile toward each other.

"I saw you and Yamaguchi yesterday," Kageyama blurted.

Tsukishima's eyes widened and stopped. " What?"

"I was walking back yesterday from extra practice, and when I opened the door, I saw you and Yamaguchi sucking each other's faces off, so I just turned around and left to go study elsewhere."

"You won't tell anyone, right?" Tsukishima said.

"I have no one to tell."

"You better not," Tsukishima said.

They walked the rest of the way back to their dorm in silence, and they didn't talk to each other at all, like normal. Kageyama went to his laptop and began to write an essay for one of his classes.

Later that night, Kageyama stared up at the ceiling, his thoughts racing again. He was thinking about earlier again; he just couldn't shake that feeling from earlier. It was so odd for him because he couldn't shake it. Hinata was his partner in volleyball and nothing more than that. Did he want him to be anything more than that to him? Even if he did, would Hinata reciprocate his feelings? Wait, what feelings?

Kageyama sighed, turned to face the wall, and closed his eyes. Eventually, his thoughts calmed down, and he was able to drift off to sleep.
